Anthony Richardson Injury Update
The Indianapolis Colts didn't list rookie first-round quarterback Anthony Richardson (knee) on the initial Week 2 injury report on Wednesday after he didn't finish his NFL debut in a Week 1 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars due to a bruised knee. Richardson and the Colts said that he was fine after last Sunday's loss, and this backs that up. He is on track to play in a Week 2 matchup against the Houston Texans on the road.
The 21-year-old is going to have his growing pains in his first NFL season, but the Florida product showed why he was the fourth overall pick in this year's draft in his first game last weekend. He went 24-for-37 for 223 yards, one touchdown and an interception and also carried the ball 10 times for 40 yards and an additional score. Richardson is in play as a low-end QB1 in Week 2 against Houston.
Jimmy Garoppolo Injury Update
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) was limited in Wednesday's practice due to an ankle injury that he apparently suffered in the Week 1 victory over the division-rival Denver Broncos on Sunday. It remains to be seen if this ankle injury is related to Garoppolo's previous foot injury from his time with the San Francisco 49ers, but it's something to watch going forward.
For now, though, it doesn't seem serious enough for him to be in danger of missing the Week 2 contest in Buffalo this Sunday against the Bills. The bigger issue could be the health of his top two receivers Davante Adams (foot) and Jakobi Meyers (concussion) in a tough draw against a feisty Bills defense in a hostile environment. Jimmy G is a shaky low-end QB2 option this week in superflex leagues.
