Aaron Rodgers Injury Update
New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers (calf) clutched at his left calf after throwing an interception in training camp practice on Tuesday. Rodgers was limping around but stayed in for the next play. The future Hall of Famer injured his right calf during organized team activities in the spring. The fact that Rodgers stayed in to finish practice means his calf issue probably isn't very serious, but it could be a sign that his body is beginning to break down at 39 years old.
With better weapons around him in his first year not with the Green Bay Packers, he's best drafted as a high-end QB2 in fantasy leagues as he looks to rebound from a career-worst season in 2022.
Brock Purdy Injury Update
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy (elbow) is uncertain to suit up for Saturday's preseason matchup against the Denver Broncos. The 23-year-old was recently cleared to practice on consecutive days after being limited during training camp.
He didn't play in the first preseason game, but has been cleared for everything after undergoing surgery in March. Head coach Kyle Shanahan hasn't decided if Purdy will be available for this exhibition matchup. Otherwise, the duo of Trey Lance and Sam Darnold are expected to split the quarterback reps.
Tyler Huntley Injury Update
Baltimore Ravens backup quarterback Tyler Huntley (hamstring) remains sidelined at training camp practice this week after picking up a hamstring injury in the team's preseason opener last weekend. Huntley's injury is expected to be minor, so he could return to practice any day now. Before leaving the first preseason game on Saturday, the 25-year-old looked good running the offense, going 8-for-11 for 88 yards and a touchdown while also rushing twice for 13 yards.
Huntley should be good to go for next Monday's preseason contest against the Washington Commanders. He has filled in for an injured Lamar Jackson in each of the last two seasons towards the end of the season and has made eight starts.
