Week 13 Fantasy Football Kicker Outlooks and Rankings Analysis
A new feature has been added to our weekly fantasy football rankings article. Below, you will find our fantasy football outlooks for key options in Week 13, which gives readers a matchup preview of that player and advice on whether to start or avoid for the upcoming week. We provide outlooks for all 32 NFL teams, which can be found on our player profile pages and our fantasy football news desk.
Jason Sanders, K, Miami Dolphins
Week 13 Kicker Rank: 8
Miami Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders finally got some more opportunities in Week 11 and turned it into double-digit fantasy points for the first time since Week 3. That earlier game came from 10 extra points against the Broncos, so his last double-digit point with actual field goal attempts was in Week 1. He made two of his three attempts and made both extra points against the Raiders because the offense seemed to stall quite a lot.
Against the New York Jets in Week 12, the offense has a greater chance of stalling in field goal range, which gives Sanders some value this time. He can be considered a lower-level option with some upside since the Jets have kept opponents under 20 points in about half of their games this season.
Chris Boswell, K, Pittsburgh Steelers
Week 13 Kicker Rank: 13
Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell drilled all three of his field goal attempts and was successful on his lone extra-point try of a Week 12 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. He'll look to stay busy against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
Pittsburgh showed signs of life on offense last week and could keep rolling, with Arizona surrendering 26.8 points per contest this season. With six teams on bye this week, Boswell can be added and streamed by fantasy managers in need of a starter.
Jake Moody, K, San Francisco 49ers
Week 13 Kicker Rank: 6
San Francisco 49ers kicker Jake Moody continued his redemption tour on Thanksgiving in Seattle last week. The rookie kicker endured rough times during San Francisco's mid-season three-game losing streak, missing three high-profile field goals. Moody has put his struggles behind him since hitting all six of his opportunities, albeit with no attempts over 39 yards.
He'll take on the Eagles on Sunday in Philadelphia, where there is a 75% chance of rain, but winds are expected to be calm. Philly has limited kickers to 6.5 fantasy points per game, which is the fifth-stingiest in the league, but San Francisco's offensive prowess provides Moody with a safe floor. He's a worthy start in Week 13.
