Tyreek Hill Injury Update
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill (hip) is expected to suit up for the Week 8 matchup against the New England Patriots, according to head coach Mike McDaniel. Hill missed practice earlier in the week, but has recently returned. It sounds like this could be a long-term issue for Hill, but might be something that he can continue to play through.
Fantasy managers should make sure to have Hill in their lineups for this favorable matchup versus New England this week.
Justin Fields Injury Update
Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields (thumb) has been officially ruled out for the Week 8 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. This comes as no surprise given the fact Fields was considered doubtful up to this point. The expectation is that the Bears will once again start Tyson Bagent under center this week.
He threw for 162 yards and one touchdown in the win over the Las Vegas Raiders last week. He'll have a tougher challenge ahead of him this weekend. Fantasy managers should consider Bagent a low-end QB2 for this game.
Tyler Lockett Injury Update
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett (hamstring) is officially questionable to face the Cleveland Browns in Week 8. The veteran posted DNPs on Wednesday and Thursday, so there's a real chance he could miss this AFC vs. NFC bout.
If he's out, rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba becomes an interesting flex play after scoring his first career touchdown in Week 7.
T.J. Hockenson Injury Update
Minnesota Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson (foot) has been removed from the injury report and will play on Sunday versus the Green Bay Packers, per head coach Kevin O'Connell. This is great news for a Minnesota offense looking to keep its passing game afloat after losing Justin Jefferson (hamstring).
Hockenson will have to share opportunities with Jordan Addison and Alexander Mattison, but there's no reason why the three can't co-exist. Fantasy managers should view him as a high-end TE1 versus Green Bay's relatively soft defense.
Darren Waller Injury Update
New York Giants tight end Darren Waller (hamstring) is officially questionable for Week 8 versus the New York Jets. The 31-year-old has been New York's focal point on offense over the last three weeks, totaling 26 targets during that span.
Having him available on Sunday would be huge for a Giants squad that is temporarily being led by Tyrod Taylor. If active, Waller would rank as a mid-range TE1 in fantasy football.
Aaron Jones Injury Update
Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (hamstring) has been removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 8 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Jones wasn't able to practice on Wednesday, but returned for the final two sessions of the week. Jones continues to work his way back from a lingering hamstring issue, so he could possibly be limited during this game.
Last week, Jones had eight carries for 35 yards and hauled in three receptions as well. Fantasy managers should consider him a RB3 this week as he continues to work his way back to full speed.
Saquon Barkley Injury Update
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (elbow) has been removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 8 matchup against the New York Jets. The superstar back hyper-extended his elbow last week. Despite that, it sounds like Barkley is going to be fine going forward.
He was able to practice in full on Friday, which is a great sign heading into this Sunday's game. The expectation is that he'll have his normal workload during this contest. He should be considered a strong RB1 for Week 8.
Jerome Ford Injury Update
Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford (ankle) has received the questionable tag from the team ahead of their Week 8 game against the Seattle Seahawks. Originally, the expectation was that Ford would miss one game with the ankle issue, but his recovery seems to be speeding up.
If he can't actually suit up, Kareem Hunt will take over the backfield while Pierre Strong Jr. will serve as the backup. Fantasy managers will want to stay tuned up until kickoff to see if anything changes with Ford's situation.
Ryan Tannehill Injury Update
Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill (ankle) missed his third consecutive practice on Friday and has been ruled out for Week 8 versus the Atlanta Falcons. This was widely expected, but the team has now provided official confirmation heading into the weekend.
With Tannehill set to miss his first game of the season, rookie Will Levis is expected to start at quarterback for Tennessee. However, head coach Mike Vrabel has hinted at giving Malik Willis some snaps, too. Neither young signal-caller has legitimate fantasy appeal.
Curtis Samuel Injury Update
Washington Commanders wide receiver Curtis Samuel (knee) has officially received a questionable tag for the Week 8 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was unable to practice on Wednesday and registered a limited practice on Thursday, so Samuel's status is up in the air right now.
If Samuel can play, he has flex option potential. If he can't suit up, Terry McLaurin becomes more important while Jahan Dotson should see some more opportunities against an Eagles secondary that has given up some big fantasy outings to opposing receivers.
