Justin Jefferson Injury Update
The Minnesota Vikings have listed wide receiver Justin Jefferson (hamstring) as questionable to play on Sunday night against the Denver Broncos in Week 11. Jefferson is eligible to return from Injured Reserve and has already missed five games, but it remains to be seen if he'll be active this weekend. The good news is fantasy managers should know whether the Vikings plan to play Jefferson against Denver, as they'd need to officially activate him from IR on Saturday if they plan to have him available.
The 24-year-old All-Pro could have his snaps somewhat limited if he makes his return, but we can't honestly recommend benching him in fantasy lineups if he's active. Jefferson's return would mean fewer targets for rookie Jordan Addison and tight end T.J. Hockenson (ribs).
Justin Fields Injury Update
Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields (thumb) practiced in full all week and has been removed from the final Week 11 injury report on Friday. It means he will start for the Bears on Sunday against the Detroit Lions to put an end to his four-game absence due to a dislocated right thumb.
The 24-year-old has QB1 upside whenever he's on the field because of his rushing prowess, but it would be wise to expect some rust in this one against a defense looking to bounce back after getting shredded by the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 10. Fields' return is also great news for the Bears offense as a whole, most notably for top wideout DJ Moore. Fields is best considered a QB2 in fantasy in his return with upside for more.
De'Von Achane Injury Update
Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane (knee) is officially listed as questionable to play on Sunday versus the Las Vegas Raiders. He has been on injured reserve since Week 5 but managed to log three consecutive limited practices this week. As of now, it looks like Achane will be activated prior to kickoff, especially after head coach Mike McDaniel said he was "very optimistic" about the rookie's chances of playing.
If confirmed as active, Achane would rank as a high-end RB2 in fantasy football, looking to pick up right where he left off. Achane totaled a whopping 455 rushing yards, 63 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns over just three weeks prior to injuring himself.
Garrett Wilson Injury Update
New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson (elbow), who is listed as questionable for Week 11 against the Buffalo Bills, said he's feeling better and will be fine to play on Sunday. Wilson has been limited in practice all week and never appeared to be dealing with a very serious elbow injury to begin with.
Even with the questionable tag and with the Jets playing in the later window on Sunday, fantasy managers should leave Wilson in their starting lineups against a banged-up Bills defense that has surrendered the 13th-most half-PPR points (27.8) per game to the receiver position in their last three contests. Wilson's 95 targets through nine games this year rank eighth among all NFL wideouts.
Keenan Allen Injury Update
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen (shoulder) is officially listed as questionable for Week 11 against the Green Bay Packers. He was recently diagnosed with an AC joint sprain. Although the veteran told reporters that he will play on Sunday, fantasy managers should still confirm his status when the Chargers release their list of inactive players on Sunday.
Allen is the overall WR2 in PPR leagues this season and should continue to be deployed in all formats, assuming he's healthy enough to play. He could even see a slightly expanded role with Gerald Everett (chest) inactive.
Noah Brown Injury Update
Houston Texans wide receiver Noah Brown (knee) will not play in Week 11 against the Arizona Cardinals, but his knee injury isn't expected to keep him out for more than one to two weeks, according to sources. Brown was unable to practice at all this week and won't be available for fantasy managers after posting over 300 yards and a touchdown in the last two games.
The good news is that he'll have a shot to return in Week 12 when the team faces off against the division-rival Jacksonville Jaguars. With Brown out this Sunday and Nico Collins (calf) questionable, rookie Tank Dell and tight end Dalton Schultz could be peppered with targets in a plus matchup with the Cardinals defense.
Alexander Mattison Injury Update
The Minnesota Vikings have listed running back Alexander Mattison (concussion) as questionable for the Week 11 primetime showdown on Sunday night in Denver against the Broncos. Mattison suffered a concussion in the Week 10 win over the New Orleans Saints and never returned, leaving him up in the air to play this weekend.
After not practicing on Wednesday, Mattison was limited on Thursday, but he still needs to receive final clearance through the league's concussion protocol. And with the game being on Sunday night this week, Mattison is an extremely risky fantasy lineup option, unless you also have backup Ty Chandler as insurance. Chandler has been a popular waiver-wire pickup of late with Mattison iffy to go, and he'd be an RB3/flex option in a good matchup against a soft Broncos run defense.
Nico Collins Injury Update
Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins (calf) will play in Week 11 against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday after missing last week's win over the Cincinnati Bengals. In other receiver news for the Texans, Noah Brown (knee) will sit out this weekend, so Collins, rookie Tank Dell and veteran Robert Woods (foot) should start in three-wide sets for the team. The 24-year-old Collins scored his fourth touchdown of the year in Week 8 before suffering a calf injury that clearly wasn't too serious.
He'll now be back in play as a high-end WR3 with upside in fantasy lineups with the way impressive rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud has been playing in a plus matchup against Arizona's secondary.
Khalil Herbert Injury Update
Chicago Bears running back Khalil Herbert (ankle, shin) practiced in full on Thursday and Friday and has been removed from the final injury report for Week 11 against the Detroit Lions on Sunday. The Bears are fully expected to officially activate Herbert from Injured Reserve on Saturday after he missed the last five games due to a high-ankle sprain.
D'Onta Foreman (ankle), who has been effective as Chicago's lead back with Herbert out, is questionable to play this weekend, which further clouds this backfield in Week 11. Herbert opened the year as the Bears' lead back, but Foreman has earned a bigger role next to Herbert when he's healthy. The Bears' backfield is trending towards being one to avoid from a fantasy perspective against Detroit.
Pat Freiermuth Injury Update
Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth (hamstring) was able to practice in full on Thursday and Friday, but he's officially listed as questionable to come off Injured Reserve and play in Week 11 against the division-rival Cleveland Browns. We should know by the deadline on Saturday to activate players from IR as to whether Freiermuth will suit up for the first time since Week 4.
The Steelers could certainly use their starting tight end against a tough Browns defense on the road. The 25-year-old appears to be on the right side of questionable. If he's back in action, he'll serve as a shaky touchdown-dependent TE2 in fantasy lineups against the Browns. In Week 2 against Cleveland, he had just one catch for a two-yard gain.
