Patrick Mahomes Injury Update

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (ankle) was removed from the injury report on Friday, so he's not expected to have limitations on Sunday. The reigning MVP used his legs in a big moment against the Cincinnati Bengals to earn the trip to the Super Bowl, so his ceiling remains high, even against a fierce defense.

He'll be a popular captain or MVP pick for DFS tournaments on DraftKings and FanDuel in his third Super Bowl appearance in just five seasons as a starter.

A.J. Brown Injury Update

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown was merely on the injury report for "rest", so even though he didn't practice Wednesday and was limited Thursday, he's as close to 100 percent as you can get this late in the season.

The Kansas City secondary has allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to wide receivers this season, so Brown is a solid captain or MVP play, but he should at the very least be considered in a flex spot in DFS tournaments. He's had two consecutive games of fewer than 30 receiving yards, but the team didn't need him to beat New York (Giants) or San Francisco. They'll need him to beat Kansas City.

JuJu Smith-Schuster Injury Update

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee) was a full participant in practice all week and carries no injury designation into Super Bowl LVII.

Although he hasn't scored double-digit DraftKings points since Week 15, it's important to note he was the receiving leader among Chiefs' wideouts in 2022. He's been priced down thanks to a late-season slump and a minor injury, but he practiced in full this week and has the most impressive resume of any Kansas City pass-catcher not named Travis Kelce. He's worth a flex consideration at a reasonable price tag.

Kadarius Toney Injury Update

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney (ankle/hamstring) was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday but practiced in full on Thursday and Friday and is off the injury report for Sunday's game.

While Toney is far from a sure-fire DFS choice, it's certainly possible Andy Reid draws some gadget plays up for him a week off the bye. Kansas City has several budget-friendly wide receivers for DFS, and Toney has a good chance to be the finishing piece of a prize-winning lineup.
