Going into Week 10 of the NFL season, which begins with the Thursday night game between the Carolina Panthers and the Chicago Bears, the amount of injury news for the week's coming slate of games is significant. These are the latest notable injury updates as of Thursday, November 9, 2023.
Fantasy football assets such as Justin Fields, Khalil Herbert, Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and many more have been dealing with injuries ahead of Week 10. We have plenty of must-starts on this week's injury list with cloudy outlooks, so fantasy managers should be ready to pivot should things go south.

Justin Fields Injury Update
Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields is officially listed as doubtful for the team's Thursday night clash with the Carolina Panthers, although he isn't expected to play against the Panthers, reports ESPN.com's Courtney Cronin.
I don’t know if this is Matt Eberflus or Michael Scott in an Eberflus disguise. pic.twitter.com/XvxbEckHpv

Bears head coach Matt Eberflus gave one of the season's more comical press conferences on Wednesday, fumbling through the status of Fields' injured thumb, while failing to provide any real clarity on the situation. We expect rookie QB Tyson Bagent to get the start against Carolina on Thursday night, though interested fantasy managers might want to keep an eye on Fields' pre-game workout status.
Khalil Herbert Injury Update
Chicago Bears running back Khalil Herbert (ankle) will not play on Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers. Chicago's starting running back has missed the last four games on Injured Reserve with an ankle sprain and will add another to the total after the team did not activate him ahead of Thursday night's game.
Bears have activated Equanimeous St. Brown and Josh Blackwell from IR; and flexed Micah Baskerville and Stephen Carlson from the practice squad to the active roster. Khalil Herbert was not activated for tonight’s game.

He had logged three straight full practices, according to the injury report, but coaches are opting to give him another week of recovery. Herbert's absence opens the door for veteran D'Onta Foreman, who carried the ball 20 times in Week 9. Carolina has one of the worst rush defenses in football, making Foreman an RB2 against his former team.
Tee Higgins Injury Update
Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins suffered a hamstring injury during the team's Wednesday practice and it appears to be significant. Higgins was unable to log any practice time in Cincinnati's Thursday session and the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting that Higgins is expected to miss the team's Week 10 matchup against the Houston Texans.
#Bengals WR Tee Higgins, who did not practice today after injuring his hamstring in practice yesterday, is expected to miss this Sunday's game vs the #Texans, sources say. He'll be evaluated on a week-to-week basis going forward. pic.twitter.com/LTfChAXOA6
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) November 9, 2023
This comes as devastating news to Higgins' fantasy managers, who have dealt with a combination of injuries and ineffectiveness from the former Clemson star this season. His absence would elevate Tyler Boyd into fantasy relevance, while extra snaps would also trickle down to Trenton Irwin and Andrei Iosivas.
Ja'Marr Chase Injury Update
The superstar Cincinnati receiver has been dealing with a back injury suffered in the team's Week 9 win over the Buffalo Bills. Chase missed Bengals practice Wednesday with back soreness and was a limited participant in Thursday's session after arriving late.
Ja’Marr Chase said he feels much better today than Monday. Ran routes on air today in practice.
Had an MRI on Tuesday. Found no damage, just a bruise.
Wouldn’t commit to playing Sunday but said if it was do-or-die game he could definitely go.
Day-to-day/gametime right now.
— Paul Dehner Jr. (@pauldehnerjr) November 9, 2023
An MRI on Tuesday revealed no significant damage, just bruising to Chase's back. He told reporters on Thursday that he's feeling better than he did earlier in the week and classified himself as "day to day". With Bengals wideout Tee Higgins already expected to miss Week 10, Chase will likely make every effort to give it a go against the Texans on Sunday.
Nico Collins Injury Update
Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins (calf) was not seen at practice on Thursday during the portion open to the media. Collins also missed the early portion of practice on Wednesday before eventually being listed as limited on the final injury report. If he indeed missed practice on Thursday, his status for the Week 10 game against the Cincinnati Bengals will be firmly in question after apparently injuring his calf in the Week 9 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Nico Collins downgrade from LP Wednesday to DNP Thursday isn’t ideal, could just be rest though, unclear as of now
Tank Dell and Noah Brown get a nice bump if Nico is forced to sit Week 10 https://t.co/YsJtnIYikh

Robert Woods (foot) returned to practice on Thursday, but he could still be in danger of missing his third straight game. It's a crowded injury picture for Houston this week, but rookie Tank Dell and Noah Brown are trending up as options for fantasy managers in Week 10 with both Collins and Woods on the injury report.
Pat Freiermuth Injury Update
Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth (hamstring) could be close to returning to the field. Freiermuth initially injured his hamstring in Week 4 and was placed on injured reserve in what was expected to be a short stay. He began practicing fully ahead of Week 7 but reinjured his hamstring in practice and ultimately did not get activated.

Freiermuth is now eyeing a return to the field in Week 11 against the Cleveland Browns after his team takes on the Green Bay Packers in Week 10. Fantasy managers will want to check waiver wires and scoop him up if he's still out there.
Kenneth Walker III Injury Update
Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III (chest) was listed as a non-participant in Wednesday's practice due to a chest injury. Fellow RB DeeJay Dallas (shoulder) also sat out. Walker's injury comes on the heels of a disastrous game in the Week 9 blowout loss to the Baltimore Ravens, in which he had nine carries for a season-low 16 yards.

He should be able to bounce back in a much friendlier matchup in Week 10 against the Washington Commanders, but Walker's status for that game is now in question unless he is able to get back on the field in the next two days. Fantasy managers may want to scoop up rookie Zach Charbonnet off the waiver wire (if he's available) if you have Walker rostered or are in need of an RB this week.
Keaton Mitchell Injury Update
Baltimore's rookie running back Keaton Mitchell was added to the team's injury report on Thursday with a hamstring issue. Mitchell was only able to practice in a limited fashion Thursday after getting in a full session on Wednesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Ravens added RB Keaton Mitchell to their injury report today with a hamstring injury; Mitchell was limited today after a full practice Wednesday.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) November 9, 2023
The undrafted rookie out of East Carolina broke out in a big way in the Ravens' Week 9 victory over the Seattle Seahawks, rushing for 138 yards and a TD on nine carries. Mitchell's electric performance last week has made him one of the industry's top waiver wire targets in Week 10, but those who picked him up on the wire might be forced to sweat his availability for Week 10 out as we get closer to the weekend.
