Ryan Tannehill Injury Update
Ryan Tannehill was unable to suit up for the Tennessee Titans in Week 8 against the Houston Texans and there's a chance he misses another game. The Titans are listing Tannehill as questionable for Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs and Mike Vrabel shared that he's a game-time decision.
The veteran quarterback is dealing with an ankle injury and was limited in practice on Wednesday and Friday to earn the questionable tag. If Tannehill is unable to start for a second straight week, rookie Malik Willis will make a second straight start.
Willis completed only six of his 10 attempts for 55 yards while rushing for 12 yards on five carries in the Week 8 win over the Texans. Unless you're extremely desperate for a quarterback, it's hard to trust Willis this week versus the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.
Matt Ryan Injury Update
The Indianapolis Colts already made the move to insert Sam Ehlinger as the starting quarterback moving forward as Matt Ryan suffered a shoulder injury in Week 7 against the Titans. After Ehlinger made his first career start in Week 8 against the Washington Commanders, he's slated to make another start in Week 9 versus the New England Patriots with Ryan ruled out.
Frank Reich made it clear that the change at quarterback would have been made regardless of Ryan's injury status. So even when the veteran quarterback can return, it appears he'll — at best — be the backup to Ehlinger.
Despite Ehlinger drawing another start, it's likely best to avoid starting him in any format in a tough matchup against the Patriots on the road on Sunday. The young quarterback also won't have Jonathan Taylor available and Nyheim Hines was traded, so he'll have a limited set of weapons, too.
