Russell Wilson Injury Update
Russell Wilson was unable to suit up for the Denver Broncos in Week 7 due to a hamstring injury, but it appears his time on the sideline will be short-lived. With Wilson being removed from the injury report, the veteran quarterback is expected to start on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.
Everyone has seen the memes about Wilson doing high knees on the team plane on the flight to London as he apparently conducted a workout that lasted hours to prepare himself to play. Even with Wilson interrupting everyone's opportunity to sleep on the plane, it'll be tough to trust starting him this week given his struggles this season.
While Jerry Jeudy had more success in Week 7 with Brett Rypien under center, Courtland Sutton will likely benefit from Wilson returning on Sunday.
Ryan Tannehill Injury Update
Mike Vrabel and the Tennessee Titans seemed confident that Ryan Tannehill would be able to play in Week 8, but he's seen his practice designation worsen on Friday. After being limited in practice on Thursday, Tannehill did not practice on Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Houston Texans.
Tannehill suffered an ankle injury in last week's game against the Indianapolis Colts, though, he would return to the game after a brief absence. Friday practice designations are a good indicator of who is going to play, but with Tannehill being an experienced quarterback that's been with the Titans for multiple years, they could be confident in him playing despite not practicing on Friday.
Rookie Malik Willis has gotten plenty of first-team reps this week with Tannehill missing practice for the Titans. Willis would make his first career start if Tannehill is unable to go, which could make him a viable streaming option in deeper leagues with his dual-threat ability.
Baker Mayfield Injury Update
Baker Mayfield has been sidelined for the last two weeks for the Carolina Panthers with an ankle injury, allowing P.J. Walker to get two starts under center. Even though Mayfield has been removed from the injury report in Week 8, the former first-round pick will operate as the backup to Walker on Sunday versus the Atlanta Falcons.
Walker was efficient in last week's upset victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by completing 16 of his 22 attempts for 177 yards and two touchdowns. Before Mayfield got hurt in Week 5, he was only completing 54.9 percent of his throws for 962 yards, four touchdowns, and four interceptions.
With Walker getting another start for the Panthers, D.J. Moore is certainly viable in Week 8, especially with A.J. Terrell being ruled out for the Falcons.
