Lamar Jackson Injury Update
The Baltimore Ravens were hopeful that Lamar Jackson would be able to return from a knee injury in Week 16, but that won't be the case. After failing to log a single practice this week, the Ravens ruled Jackson out for Saturday's matchup with the Atlanta Falcons.
With Jackson sidelined for a third consecutive game, Tyler Huntley will make another start for the Ravens in Week 16. Huntley has thrown for 226 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception while rushing for 46 yards on 15 attempts in his two starts in relief of Jackson this season.
Being that Jackson hasn't made much progress in returning, there's a chance he misses the rest of the regular season. And until Jackson returns, all of the offensive weapons on the Ravens are risky options in fantasy football.
Jalen Hurts Injury Update
The odds for the upcoming showdown between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys drastically shifted earlier this week as Jalen Hurts suffered a sprained shoulder in Week 15 versus the Chicago Bears. While the Eagles tried to give Hurts an opportunity to potentially start on Saturday, they've ruled him out for at least a week.
Following the news of Hurts being inactive, Gardner Minshew was announced as the starting quarterback for Saturday's pivotal NFC East matchup. Minshew was understandably absent from practice earlier in the week to attend Mike Leach's funeral, but he was able to get reps with the starters ahead of Saturday.
We've seen Minshew be a solid quarterback in the NFL and the Eagles still have plenty of weapons for him to target in the passing game. Even though the skill players on the Eagles receive a slight downgrade with Hurts sidelined, guys like A.J. Brown, Miles Sanders, DeVonta Smith, and potentially Dallas Goedert are worth starting still in Week 16.
Ryan Tannehill Injury Update
Ryan Tannehill exited last week's game against the Los Angeles Chargers with an ankle injury, and despite being carted off of the field, he would return to the contest. But after finishing the game, Tannehill has been ruled out this week and he could potentially miss the rest of the season.
Malik Willis is going to be the starting quarterback for the Titans on Saturday against the Houston Texans as he makes his third career start and second start versus the Texans. The rookie signal-caller combined for only 135 passing yards and an interception with 52 rushing yards in his first two starts this season.
It's expected to be an extremely cold game on Saturday and Willis could be without a few of his offensive linemen. Outside of Derrick Henry, it's hard to trust any of the offensive weapons for the Titans in Week 16.
Colt McCoy Injury Update
Colt McCoy exited last week's game against the Denver Broncos after taking a hit to the head, forcing him to enter the league's concussion protocol this week. After not being able to clear the protocol before the weekend, the Arizona Cardinals have ruled out McCoy for the team's matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Christmas.
Trace McSorley replaced McCoy in last week's game against the Broncos and it appears he'll be the starter this week versus the Buccaneers. With Kyler Murray out for the rest of the season due to a knee ailment, McSorley and David Blough are the only quarterbacks on the active roster entering Sunday's contest.
This week will be McSorley's first career start as he's combined for 256 passing yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions in his first three seasons. With McSorley leading the offense on Sunday, all skill players on the Cardinals suffer a massive decline in value in Week 16. James Conner and DeAndre Hopkins are likely the only two skill players to consider starting on the Cardinals.
