Ezekiel Elliott Injury Update
Elliott (knee) missed last Sunday's game against the Bears but believes the convenient placement of the Cowboys' bye week will benefit his recovery process. Dallas is currently on bye, and Elliott is "doing everything I can" to return in Week 10.
The veteran back will be a low-end RB2 in fantasy football upon his return. Tony Pollard, who totaled 147 scrimmage yards and three touchdowns last Sunday, should be viewed as an RB1 when Elliott is sidelined, but he falls to the RB2 tier when facing competition in the backfield.
Gus Edwards Injury Update
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said that he views Edwards (hamstring) as questionable for next Monday's primetime game against the Saints. On a positive note, the Ravens have 11 days between games, leaving plenty of time for Edwards to recover.
On the other hand, it's not a very promising sign that Harbaugh already has some doubts about Edwards' availability this early in the week. It's also worth noting that the Ravens are on bye in Week 10, so the Ravens have the incentive to make Edwards inactive. If the 27-year-old is able to suit up, he should be viewed as an RB3. Otherwise, the backfield will belong to Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill.
Mark Ingram II Injury Update
Ingram (knee) suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain during Sunday's big win over the Raiders. All in all, this is a positive diagnosis, but the veteran back is still expected to be sidelined for three to four weeks. Taysom Hill and Dwayne Washington should handle rushing duties behind Alvin Kamara for the time being.
Cam Akers Injury Update
Akers (personal), who was not traded prior to Tuesday's deadline, believes that there is an opportunity for a "fair resolution for his future beyond the Rams." Akers doesn't believe that playing for the Rams is in the best interest of his career path. Head coach Sean McVay has shown a willingness to mend matters, and while two sides have upheld an "amicable" relationship, the young running back has evidently set his sights on the next chapter of his football voyage.
Elijah Mitchell Injury Update
Mitchell (knee) intends to spend the bye week preparing himself physically for a Week 10 return against the Chargers. The 24-year-old does expect to be activated ahead of that Sunday night contest in Santa Clara. Although Mitchell will operate as the No. 2 back behind Christian McCaffrey, he still has an opportunity to get involved in this run-heavy offense, especially after Jeff Wilson Jr. was traded to Miami.
Kyren Williams Injury Update
Rams head coach Sean McVay noted that Williams (ankle) could return from injured reserve prior to Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. The rookie's presence could make a big impact in a backfield that is currently struggling to survive with Ronnie Rivers, Darrell Henderson, and Malcolm Brown. Williams wouldn't be an instant must-start in fantasy football, but he is an appealing speculative stash at the very least.
