Christian McCaffrey Injury Update
49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said that he'd be "surprised" if McCaffrey (Achilles) can return this week against the Cowboys. Instead, a more likely target date for his return is Nov. 10, when the 49ers face the Buccaneers for a Week 10 battle in Tampa Bay.

Aaron Jones Injury Update
Jones (hamstring) has been a limited participant in practice for each of the last two days. Barring some sort of setback, he should be good to go for Thursday Night Football against the Rams.

Jonathan Taylor Injury Update
Colts head coach Shane Steichen is "very optimistic" that Taylor (ankle) will be able to practice this week. While being able to practice doesn't guarantee that Taylor would be able to play in Week 8, it's certainly a step in the right direction for Indianapolis' talented running back.
Colts coach Shane Steichen says he's "very optimistic" that DeForest Buckner and Jonathan Taylor will return to practice this week. That would be a massive boost if and when it happens.

David Montgomery Injury Update
Montgomery (knee) suffered a contusion on Sunday afternoon and is unlikely to experience any lingering effects going forward. He should be good to go for Week 8 and beyond.
Dan Campbell said no issues with David Montgomery's knee after playing through that injury yesterday. Said Montgomery had a contusion after being kneed in the back of the knee.

Tyjae Spears Injury Update
Spears (hamstring) has a chance to return in Week 8, head coach Brian Callahan noted. Even if he plays this week, he'd operate behind Tony Pollard.
#Titans' Callahan: Duncan will likely miss next game, will be week to week ... All others, normal bumps and bruises, we'll see what things look like WEdnesday ... Chance that Spears returns.

Cordarrelle Patterson Injury Update
Patterson (ankle) could return this week following a three-game absence. He would presumably earn a handful of touches despite ranking third on the depth chart behind Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren.
Steelers HC Mike Tomlin Montravius Adams is out this week (knee). Cordarrelle Patterson could return this week. Donte Jackson (shoulder) is minor. Nick Herbig, Zach Frazier look like they're out this week. Damontae Kazee should be back.

Raheem Blackshear Injury Update
Blackshear (shoulder) has been diagnosed with a shoulder dislocation and is being evaluated on a day-to-day basis. This news has a much greater impact on the Panthers special teams unit than their backfield.
