Fantasy Football Injury Reports For NFL RBs: Week 6 Updates for Saquon Barkley, Jonathan Taylor, Damien Harris, Raheem Mostert

Saquon Barkley - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, Draft Sleepers

Fantasy football RB injury updates and injury reports for running backs for Week 6 (2022), as of 10/15, including Saquon Barkley, Jonathan Taylor, James Conner, and Cam Akers.

Below you will find our fantasy football injuries report for running backs in Week 6, as of October 15. The injury statuses for various NFL running backs are up in the air for Week 6 including Saquon Barkley, Jonathan Taylor, James Conner, and Cam Akers.

The fantasy football season may be just getting underway, but every decision, transaction, and lineup change matters. These are critical running back injuries to keep track of throughout the week. Being up-to-date on NFL injury news can give you an edge over your league mates in fantasy football.

Let's look at the updates for some running backs and see whether they may play in Week 6.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Saquon Barkley Injury Update

Barkley (shoulder) was limited in practice but does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's game. Arguably the best running back in football right now, Barkley is a top candidate to finish as the overall RB1 once again this week. He should be started in 100 percent of fantasy leagues.

Jonathan Taylor Injury Update

UPDATE 10/15 at 1:15 pm ET: Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines have both officially been ruled out for Week 6:

This makes things a lot more interesting for Deon Jackson and Philip Lindsay. They are expected to carry the RB load, and Deon Jackson should be considered a viable FLEX play with RB2 upside.

Taylor (ankle) has logged back-to-back limited practice sessions and is questionable to play in Week 6. After missing the Colts' last game coming off a short week, Taylor figures to have a much better shot at playing this time around. However, fantasy managers will still want to monitor his status when the Colts release their official inactives list on Sunday morning. Despite his statistically slow start, Taylor remains one of the most impressive running backs in football and should be started in all fantasy football leagues if active.

James Conner Injury Update

Conner (rib) has officially been ruled out for Week 6, joining backfield-mate Darrel Williams (knee) on the inactives list. As a result, Eno Benjamin will lead the Cardinals' backfield in an extremely favorable matchup against the Seahawks and should be viewed as an RB2. Keaontay Ingram and Corey Clement will also be active, but neither running back has played an offensive snap this season and therefore both lack fantasy appeal.

Damien Harris Injury Update

Harris (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Browns. At the very least, this leaves the door open for him to play, but it doesn't detract from the fact that recent reports suggested Harris would miss multiple games. With Rhamondre Stevenson looking like a capable lead back, it's hard to imagine the Patriots will deploy Harris if he's less than 100 percent. If he is active, both he and Stevenson should be viewed as RB3 options. If he is inactive, Stevenson would rise into the low-end RB1 range.

Jeff Wilson Jr. Injury Update

Wilson (shoulder) practiced in full this week and does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Falcons. Not only will he play, but he could see significant volume if the 49ers take an early lead. Pencil Wilson into your lineups as a stable RB2 option.

Raheem Mostert Injury Update

Mostert (knee) closed out the week as a limited participant in practice. He is officially listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's game against the Vikings. The ex-49er has quickly emerged as the Dolphins' lead back and should be started in most leagues if active.

Melvin Gordon Injury Update

Gordon (neck, ribs) has been limited in back-to-back practices. This has been a common occurrence for the veteran, who has yet to miss a game in 2022 despite making frequent appearances on the injury report. He's trending towards being active for Monday Night Football, but his participation in practice on Saturday will offer more solid insight into his availability. If active, Gordon should be viewed as a low-end RB2 versus a suspect Chargers run defense.

Cam Akers Injury Update

Akers (personal) missed two consecutive practices and has now been ruled out for Week 6 as he and the team are "working through some things," head coach Sean McVay announced. It's worth noting that McVay declined to comment on whether Akers will be a part of the team in the future. This is a situation that warrants monitoring. Obviously, the running back should be removed from all Week 6 fantasy lineups. Darrell Henderson will handle lead-back duties and figures to be a fringe top-24 option in fantasy football.

Nyheim Hines Injury Update

Hines (concussion) practiced in full on Friday but is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. Although the injury designation leaves some ambiguity regarding his availability, the fact that he was a full participant in practice is a very good sign. Of course, Hines' fantasy value is largely dependent on the status of Taylor (ankle), who is listed as questionable. If Taylor does play, Hines salvages his value as a low-end RB3 thanks to his usage in the passing game.

Darrel Williams Injury Update

Williams (knee) joins Conner (rib) on the Cardinals' list of inactive players. Eno Benjamin will lead the Cardinals' backfield in an extremely favorable matchup against the Seahawks and should be viewed as an RB2.

Alexander Mattison Injury Update

Mattison (shoulder) is listed as questionable but should play in Week 6. He is one of the top handcuffs in fantasy football, but his standalone value is largely dependent on touchdowns or an injury to Dalvin Cook. As a result, Mattison can be benched in most leagues this week.

Samaje Perine Injury Update

On Friday, Perine (abdomen) practiced in full for the first time this week. He does not carry an injury designation into this weekend's game against the Saints. Still, as Joe Mixon's backup, Perine lacks fantasy appeal and can be benched or left on waivers, depending on league size.

Kenneth Gainwell Injury Update

Gainwell (rib) practiced in full on Friday. He will play against the Cowboys in Week 6. However, with just 93 scrimmage yards this season, the second-year back should be left on waivers in most redraft leagues.

Mike Boone Injury Update

Boone (foot) upgraded to a full participant during Friday's practice. Currently the backup to Gordon (neck, ribs), Boone should be viewed as an RB4 heading into Monday Night Football versus the Chargers. If Gordon were to miss the contest, Boone would bump up to the RB3 tier.

Tyrion Davis-Price Injury Update

Davis-Price (ankle) was limited in practice all week long and does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Falcons. He hasn't played since Week 2 when he rushed 14 times for 33 yards. The rookie figures to see some touches in his return, but he'll operate behind Wilson and possibly Tevin Coleman, too. Avoid starting him in his first game back.

Justice Hill Injury Update

Hill (hamstring) is officially listed as doubtful for Week 6 against the Giants. He has looked like a fine depth player for the Ravens when healthy but lacks fantasy appeal. Mike Davis and Kenyan Drake will continue to operate behind J.K. Dobbins this Sunday.

Latavius Murray Injury Update

Murray (wrist) is listed on the injury report but has practiced in full this week. Assuming he maintains this level of participation on Saturday, the veteran likely won't carry an injury designation into Monday Night Football. Still, he was inactive last week and is expected to have a minimal role once again in Week 6.

Rico Dowdle Injury Update

Dowdle (ankle) did not practice at all this week and has been ruled out for Week 6. The Cowboys could promote Malik Davis from the practice squad, but they could also roll with just Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard on Sunday night.

Taiwan Jones Injury Update

Although Jones (knee) did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday, he closed out the week as a limited participant and does not carry an injury designation heading into Buffalo's game against the Chiefs. The 34-year-old is listed as a running back, but he should play solely on special teams once again this week.

Demetric Felton Injury Update

Fulton (wrist) practiced in full this week and does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Patriots. However, that does not guarantee that he will be active in Week 6. The 24-year-old kick returner has seen minimal usage on offense and was a healthy scratch last Sunday.
