Week 13 Fantasy Football FLEX Outlooks and Rankings Analysis
A new feature has been added to our weekly fantasy football rankings article. Below, you will find our fantasy football outlooks or injury news for key options in Week 13, which gives readers a matchup preview of that player and advice on whether to start or avoid for the upcoming week. We provide outlooks for all 32 NFL teams, which can be found on our player profile pages and our fantasy football news desk.
Zach Charbonnet, RB, Seattle Seahawks
Week 13 FLEX Half-PPR Rank: 48
Seattle Seahawks running back Zach Charbonnet drew his first career start in Week 12 with Kenneth Walker III (oblique) inactive due to injury. The rookie took 14 carries for 47 yards and added 11 receiving yards on his four catches against the San Francisco 49ers on Thanksgiving. With Walker doubtful for Week 13, Charbonnet will have another crack at the starting job, but it will be tough sledding yet again.
The Seahawks will be in Dallas to take on the Cowboys in another Thursday night matchup. The Cowboys' defense has allowed just one touchdown to opposing running backs in the last four weeks, and their explosive offense keeps teams playing catchup early and often, limiting opponents' use of the run game. It's likely that the Seahawks will be playing from behind, limiting the amount of work Charbonnet sees even if he is Seattle's featured back for another week.
Raheem Mostert, RB, Miami Dolphins
Week 13 FLEX Half-PPR Rank: 12
Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert (ankle, knee) returned to the practice field on Thursday after missing Wednesday's session. The Dolphins have been resting their lead back early in the week, so it's no surprise to see him return to practice on Thursday. The 31-year-old may not be 100 percent, but he sure has been productive as Miami's primary RB all year long, scoring a league-high 13 rushing touchdowns while running for 785 yards on 151 carries in 11 games. He's also added 158 receiving yards on 20 receptions.
Mostert will remain a focal point of Miami's ground game the rest of the season, but the Dolphins could also choose to keep him fresh for the postseason and inject some more Jeff Wilson Jr. and rookie De'Von Achane (knee) into the mix in these next six regular-season games.
Brandin Cooks, WR, Dallas Cowboys
Week 13 FLEX Half-PPR Rank: 66
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Brandin Cooks will look for consistency and to even things out in a Week 13 game against the Seattle Seahawks. Cooks has been alternating good and bad games, finishing as the fantasy WR21, 97, 3, 49, and 18 over the past five weeks.
Based on that pattern, he's due for a bad week, but based on his and the Cowboys offense's recent play, there's a lot of upside in Cooks. His floor is lower than most others on the WR2/3 radar, but the ceiling is nice, and the Cowboys shouldn't have a hard time moving the ball on Thursday Night.
Jalen Guyton, WR, Los Angeles Chargers
Week 13 FLEX Half-PPR Rank: 133
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Jalen Guyton could have a key role on the Chargers offense in a Week 13 game against the New England Patriots. Guyton hasn't done much in his three games so far this season, totaling just 13 fantasy points, with 12 of them coming in Week 10.
However, with Keenan Allen (quadricep) questionable after missing practice on Wednesday, Guyton would slide into the WR1 spot for the Chargers mostly by default. Guyton is the fastest pass catcher on the roster, so he's always a threat for a big play, but consistency has always been an issue. He's a decent fit in a best ball lineup but hard to trust in standard leagues.
Jayden Reed, WR, Green Bay Packers
Week 13 FLEX Half-PPR Rank: 64
Green Bay Packers rookie wide receiver Jayden Reed (chest) was not seen practicing on Thursday for the second straight day. Reed was also dealing with a chest injury last week but ended up with no injury designation for the Thanksgiving upset win over the Detroit Lions last Thursday. The 23-year-old may have done more damage to his chest in last week's game, and he's now highly questionable to suit up this Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.
If the 23-year-old first-year wideout can't play in Week 13, it would make Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs much more attractive as flex plays in fantasy lineups. Reed has been a solid upside flex in his own right recently and has found the end zone in two of the last three games.
