Fantasy Football Week 7 Matchup Plays
Quarterback: Andrew Luck
Projection: 317 yards / 3 TD / 1 INT / 22 rush yards
Why: Our numbers say that it's a good thing Denver has Peyton Manning. The defense has been poor, and the pass defense has been even worse. Giving up over 300 yards per game on average (the only sub-300 game was 280 to Terrelle Pryor). And while the addition of Champ Bailey and Von Miller will help, the weapons at WR plus a home game on the turf indicates big things for Andrew Luck. Roll with him, as he will be a top-3 scoring QB this week.
Projection: 119 yards / 2 TD / 34 receiving yards
Why: Though the fantasy numbers say the Giants haven't been THAT bad versus the run this year, they truly have been. They've allowed 123 yards per game and five touchdowns... this defense is a sieve! Adrian Peterson will get the rock a lot, but expect Josh Freeman to provide enough of a passing threat to keep away the eight-man fronts. I'm sure you all know All Day is a play every week.
Bonus Sleeper
Running Back: Bilal Powell
Projection: 94 yards / 1 TD / 35 receiving yards
Wide Receiver: Alshon Jeffery
Projection: 142 yards / 1 TD / 12 rush yards
Why: The ultimate in boom-or-bust players, our projections show a BOOM this week. DeAngelo Hall (and a safety) will line up opposite Brandon Marshall, which should leave some fantastic one-on-one opportunities for Jeffery. He's the team's deep threat (15.4 YPC), and Washington's pass defense gives up an average of 13 YPC.
Tight End: Tony Gonzalez
Projection: 103 yards / 2 TD
Why: This is a no-brainer. Matt Ryan will have Harry Douglas as his #1 WR. Tampa's pass defense has been suspect for at last few weeks, but they are especially susceptible to good TEs. Now, one may think that Tony G will get Revis Island when he's spread out. Expect Atlanta to counter by putting him inline, thus forcing safety/LB coverage.
