Fantasy College Football CFB Rankings: NCAA Top 10 (9/24/18)

Brian Dunleavy's top 10 NCAA college football (CFB) rankings, from a fantasy football perspective, as of 9/24/18. His fantasy CFB rankings are updated weekly.

Lots of upsets on Saturday. We're particularly happy for Old Dominion, which beat Virginia Tech (in case you haven't heard). We have a friend who is an alum.

But notably, none of our top 10 were affected. Which made things easy for us this week.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Here are our top teams after Week Four of the season (with won-loss records in parentheses), as of September 24, 2018:

NCAA College Football (CFB) Rankings

1. Alabama, (4-0)

QB Tua Tagovailoa (22/30, 387 yards, 4 TDs vs. Texas A&M) hasn't just secured the starting job at 'Bama. He's also an early front-runner for the Heisman. And, well, he's also a big producer, which means he's worth a look for fantasy players now--as a rising college star--and in the future, for when/if he plays on Sundays.

2. Georgia, (4-0)

Much of the talk heading into the Bulldogs' game at Mizzou on Saturday was about the Tigers' QB Drew Lock, who is, uh, a lock as a first-rounder in the NFL Draft and a big-time passer. But Georgia's sophomore Jake Fromm (13/23, 260 yards, 3 TDs vs. Missouri) has a heck of a pedigree, too.

3. Clemson, (4-0)

RB Travis Etienne (11 carries, 122 yards, 1 TD vs. Georgia Tech) keeps putting up big numbers, so we'll keep talking about him. Clemson seems like it will sail through its regular season. But how will the Tigers stack up in the BCS playoffs?

4. Oklahoma, (4-0)

OU's defense struggled against Army's option on Saturday, and it took OT for the Sooners to win. But win they did, and QB Kyler Murray (11/15, 166 passing yards, 3 TDs; 7 rushes, 71 rushing yards, 1 TD) performed well enough to stay in the early Heisman conversation. Seriously, the kid had an off day and put up 237 total yards...

5. Ohio State, (4-0)

Too little, Tulane... The Green Wave were hardly a tsunami in Columbus on Saturday. QB Dwayne Haskins (21/24, 304 yards, 5 TDs) was his (now) usual self, but receiver Parris Campbell (8 catches, 147 yards, 2 TDs) had a breakout day, and should be on everyone's radar as well.

6. Penn State, (4-0)

Saquon who? Seriously, Miles Sanders (22 carries, 200 yards, 3 TDs vs. Illinois; above) isn't Barkley level. But he's good enough--and the team around him is good enough--to let him put up big numbers against most teams.

7. Washington, (3-1)

The Huskies scraped by the "Fighting Edwards" of Arizona State at home on Saturday night. But despite his early-season struggles, we like QB Jake Browning (15/22, 202 yards, 3 TDs vs. the Sundays). Still, what are the NFL scouts thinking?

8. LSU, (4-0)

We were a little worried when we saw the purple jerseys on the Tigers against La Tech on Saturday night, but they were able to overcome any possible jinxes. We wondered about their running game in their new passing-oriented offense, but Clyde Edwards-Helaire (22 carries, 136 yards, 2 TDs vs. La Tech) may be the answer.

9. Wisconsin, (3-1)

The Badgers certainly bounced back from the home loss to BYU with a nice win at a tough place to play at Iowa. RB Jonathan Taylor (25 carries, 113 yards) had what was, for him, an ordinary day.

10. Notre Dame, (4-0)

Look out, Irish. Stanford, with its big come-from-behind win at Oregon, is breathing down your necks a bit. QB Ian Book (25/34, 325, 2 TDs) got his first start at Wake on Saturday, and we have just one question: Where was he in the first three games?
