Fantasy Basketball Top 50 Player Rankings (Week 6)

Rank Previous Rank Name Team Pos Notes
1 Kevin Durant GSW SF/PF He's ranked #1 on the season and #1 in the past two weeks. AD is close behind but he's still a big injury risk.
2 Stephen Curry GSW PG/SG His 3's have dropped from an otherworldly 5.1 per game last year to a pedestrian 4.2 this year. Durant's arrival has also unsurprisingly accounted for his dip in points scored. However, his steals totals should not have been affected as much, and he's been a bit closer to normal these past couple weeks.
3 James Harden HOU PG/SG/SF He's still turning the ball over at an astronomical rate. He set the all-time record for most turnovers in a season last year with 374, and he's on pace to surpass that by about 90. But the rest of his stats are so good that it's hard to justify taking him any lower, plus he's been an iron man his whole career for that added level of safety.
5 Anthony Davis NOR PF/C He's had a couple injury scares so far but they've only caused him to miss one game. He'd be my #2 if not for his injury history, and the way he's playing it's getting harder and harder to rank him this low.
6 Chris Paul LAC PG No player gives you a better assists + steals WHILE ALSO keeping his turnovers in check. Same old CP3, who's hasn't finished outside the top six in the past six years.
8 Giannis Antetokounmpo MIL PG/SG/SF Most experts projected an increase in scoring and assists this year, which he's lived up to, but more satisfying is his jump in steals and blocks. Now if only he could knock down that three ball...
7 Kawhi Leonard SAS SG/SF Kawhi would be ahead of the Greek Freak if he was a bit more durable. He's one of a few players in the league who will give you close to positive value in every category.
4 Russell Westbrook OKC PG This might be the most controversial ranking on this list, as most experts probably have him in the top 5, even top two. But remember these are Rotisserie scoring rankings, and his poor FG% combined with his sky-high turnover rate forces you to compensate elsewhere. He's giving you value outside the top 10 so far this year, despite nearly averaging a triple double.
11 LeBron James CLE SF/PF LeBron's assists and rebounds are up and his points are down. He could become more of a facilitator as he ages, so we'll see if this becomes his new norm.
13 Draymond Green GSW SF/PF He's a top 15 player this season in spite of a three year low FG%, meaning his PTS should increase a couple notches. No one gives more value than he does in REB+AST+STL+BLK.
15 Kemba Walker CHA PG Kemba's FG% is still at a career high, and at this point in the season it could very well be real. It looks like he's taken his game to the next level for the second consecutive year.
17 Jimmy Butler CHI SG/SF Butler has sacrificed a small dip in assists for a massive boost in FG%, giving him top 10 value on the season. He's still somewhat of an injury risk, but adding Rondo and Wade has actually helped his fantasy value.
10 Damian Lillard POR PG Lillard's FG% has normalized a bit since his hot start to the season, but he's still averaging a career highs in PTS, FG%, and FTA, good for top 15 value on the season. Iron man status bumps his rank up a couple notches as well.
16 DeMarcus Cousins SAC PF/C Despite taking even more attempts from the three point line this season, DMC's FG% has gone up.
9 Karl-Anthony Towns MIN C Towns has been a bit underwhelming this year compared to his preseason projections. He doesn't do enough in steals or blocks to justify a top 10 pick, but I'd be surprised if more didn't come as his career develops. Still, a career low 71% FT should return to his 80% norm.
14 Hassan Whiteside MIA C Whiteside could be a top five player if not for his FT%, but unless he can figure out how to get it back to the more manageable 65% from last season, he's too much of a detriment in Roto formats. He's still a top 10 H2H player, however.
12 Paul George IND SF/PF PG13 has dealt with the injury bug this year, but when he's on the court he's still be an elite wing. Assuming he comes back later this week and can stay healthy, he's still a top 20 player.
18 Kyrie Irving CLE PG/SG Looks like Kyrie's 2015-16 season was the anomaly. He's back to his usual top 25 self.
25 Al Horford BOS PF/C Horford missed nine games with a concussion, but he's back to full strength. His blocks are at a career high, and while the none of his other stats really pop out, he's one of the most well-rounded players in the game.
24 Kevin Love CLE PF/C Love has been revitalized these past couple weeks, racking up double doubles in all but one of his last 10 games. Owners will have to take the eight 3's he gave them in that 10th game as consolation.
23 Kristaps Porzingis NYK PF/C KP's FG% has stayed aloft, up to 49% from last year's 41%. He's also doubled his three point output. His blocks are down so there's even room for improvement on his current top 20 value.
22 John Wall WAS PG Wall's minutes have come down by a couple minutes from last season, but he's actually still been taking a career high 18.5 shots per game. That may account for his dip in assists, so the tradeoff keeps his value right in with it's usual level.
20 Kyle Lowry TOR PG Lowry's FG% has come up a bit since the last rankings, and the rest of his numbers are in line with his elite production over the past few years.
21 Myles Turner IND PF/C Turner's elite blocks and shooting percentages make him an elite fantasy basketball player for years to come. He's been a top 25 player this year and there's no reason to think it won't continue.
26 Isaiah Thomas BOS PG His scoring has expectedly dipped since Horford's return, but steals are the only thing keeping IT from being as valuable as Kemba.
30 Mike Conley MEM PG It looks like Conley's new coach is exactly what he needed to regain his elite point guard status from three years ago. His points and 3's are at career highs.
28 CJ McCollum POR PG/SG McCollum's increase in FG% seems for real, making McCollum one of the best shooting guards in the game.
27 DeMar DeRozan TOR SG/SF His scoring is still at a career high 30 per game, and while it's dipped in his past few games it's come with some extra assists.
31 Blake Griffin LAC PF/C Blake's been his usual self this year.
32 Carmelo Anthony NYK SF/PF He's taken a few more threes the past couple weeks which has lowered his FG%. No reason to worry.
46 Otto Porter WAS SF Porter is putting up elite value in FG%, STL, and TO, while also contributing a healthy amount in every other category besides AST. He's showing no signs of slowing down.
50 Rudy Gobert UTA C Gobert's FT% is up to 65% on the season, a career high. The blocks and FG% are also at a career high. He's only 24 so the strides he's making could be real, which means he's an elite fantasy center.
38 Trevor Ariza HOU SG/SF Ariza is putting up his usual elite threes and steals, good for top 30 value on the season. The FG% may come down a couple points but there's no reason to think he finishes outside the top 40.
39 Rudy Gay SAC SF/PF His shot has been off the past couple weeks, only knocking down 43% from the field in his past seven games. Everything else looks normal, so it's just a mini slump.
19 Paul Millsap ATL PF/C Millsap has not been his usual self this season, and much of that has to be attributed to playing next to Dwight Howard. This ranking expects a bit of normalization in FG% and BLK, but not up to their usual levels.
40 Brook Lopez BKN C Lopez is resting every so often, but it's keeping him fresh and he's playing well. Owners will have to be happy with a couple added 3's and find a FG% anchor elsewhere.
36 Victor Oladipo OKC PG/SG Those who thought Oladipo's slump to start the season was his new norm have been silenced, as he's been a top 40 player in the past couple weeks. His FT% has still be abnormally low, meaning he can still get better. The buy-low window is nearly closed.
35 Klay Thompson GSW SG/SF Klay's numbers have started to creep back up to last year's levels, and he's knocking down over three 3's the past couple weeks. He didn't forget how to shoot.
37 Gordon Hayward UTA SG/SF The fractured finger seems behind him, and he's putting up his typical stats. He's as safe as they come.
34 Marc Gasol MEM C Gasol's FG% has come up a bit as of late, and he's still knocking down about 1.5 threes per game. The rebounds are down from career levels, but it's mostly on the defensive end so it's possible they rise to 6-7 per game. He's only missed one game due to rest and his minutes are hovering around 34 per game for the past couple weeks, so he's someone you should be able to rely on the rest of the way.
33 LaMarcus Aldridge SAS PF/C Aldridge's FG% is down from last season, and much of that is due to taking about one three point shot per game. He did that his final year in Portland as well, where he finished with 46.6% shooting from the field. He's also incurring a rest day here and there, which should be expected from Coach Pop.
NA George Hill UTA PG/SG Despite missing eight games with a sprained thumb, the 30 year old George Hill is playing the best ball of his nine year career as the starting point guard for the Jazz. He's been a top 40 player before, but he's never shot over 48% from the field in a season. It's still hard to doubt him right now.
NA Jeff Teague IND PG Teague has proven doubters wrong this year, putting up top 40 value on the Pacers. He's the same point guard he was on the Hawks.
43 Eric Bledsoe PHO PG/SG Bledsoe has been up and down this season but he's looked like himself for the past couple weeks. Whether that continues when TJ Warren returns from injury remains to be seen. Regardless, he's an electric player but the injury risk is still there.
48 Avery Bradley BOS PG/SG The rebounds have come down a tad, and owners should expect around 6-7 per game when Horford is healthy. The rest looks real and he's a strong option at shooting guard for the rest of the season.
44 Nicolas Batum CHA SG/SF Batum missed a game with an eye injury and was limited in his return. He should be back to being his usual well-rounded self.
29 Gorgui Dieng MIN PF/C Dieng has been very inconsistent this season, but his per game statistics are pretty much as expected other than the unusually low free throw shooting. While he won't carry your team, the out-of-position AST+STL will always be valuable in fantasy. He was a bit overvalued in the previous rankings.
42 Jrue Holiday NOR PG Jrue has looked pretty good since his return, despite coming off the bench. Expect Gentry to move him to the first unit sooner rather than later. His steals production and free throw shooting should go up to career levels, meaning he's back to being a top point guard in the league.
45 Jae Crowder BOS SF/PF Crowder missed eight games with an ankle sprain, but has looked fine since returning. He's shooting a career high from the field this season, so look for it to regress a bit while the steals should come back up.
41 Jonas Valanciunas TOR C His blocks are still down from his career per minute averages, and if he can get to 1.5 per game he would be a top 40 player with his elite shooting percentages and great rebounding. For now owners will have to settle for just one per game.

Next 5 in: Zach LaVine, Tobias Harris, DeAndre Jordan, Marcin Gortat, Andre Drummond

On the bubble: Derrick Favors,  Bradley Beal, Serge Ibaka, Dwayne Wade, Clint Capela
