It is never too early to start talking about hoops! Even more so, it is never too early to talk about fantasy basketball. While everyone is preoccupied with perfecting their fantasy football teams, some of us are biting our nails and chomping at the bit for basketball season to start.
So without further ado, let's take a look at shooting guard eligible players and how they we will stack up this season as we progressively get closer to the start of the NBA season.
All positional eligibility is based on Fantrax league defaults, and will include anyone who qualifies at the position. As a result, players ranked here may not qualify at the position on all other sites. All of the initial position tiers are coming from different writers -- so don't come complaining to us if there's no consistency between them. Just relax, enjoy, and hate on each set of rankings separately.

Fantasy Basketball Tiered Rankings - Shooting Guard
Tier 1
1. James Harden - Houston Rockets - He broke Khloe Kardashian's heart and will break defender's ankles this season.
2. Kawhi Leonard - San Antonio Spurs - My favorite player and prediction for MVP this season.
3. Giannis Antetokounmpo - Milwaukee Bucks - Listed eligible for basically every position in most leagues. Say his name three times fast.
Tier 2
4. Stephen Curry - Golden State Warriors - His value is higher if your league gives bonus points for shots from beyond the arch.
5. Kyrie Irving - Boston Celtics - Health is always a question and no LeBron sending passes his way. He will take a slight dip this season.
6. Jimmy Butler - Minnesota Timberwolves - Back with his daddy Tom Thibodeau in Minnesota. Health is always a concern with him as well.
Tier 3
7. C.J. McCollum - Portland Trail Blazers - Saw an increase in PPG last season.
8. Gordon Hayward - Boston Celtics - New home and reunited with his old college coach.
9. Bradley Beal - Washington Wizards - No bench depth in Washington = plenty of minutes and plenty of chances for fantasy points.
10. Klay Thompson - Golden State Warriors - Just as productive last year despite the addition of KD.
11. Eric Bledsoe - Phoenix Suns - Great player, bad knee.
12. DeMar DeRozan - Toronto Raptors - Back with his buddy Kyle Lowry. A fantasy stud.
13. Khris Middleton - Milwaukee Bucks - No, I didn't spell his name wrong. He came back strong after missing a good chunk last season.
14. Goran Dragic - Miami Heat - Is an efficient player who will get you some points.
Tier 4
15. Nicolas Batum - Charlotte Hornets - Good player but very inconsistent at times.
16. Devin Booker - Phoenix Suns - I predict that he will be a tier 2 by this time next season.
17. Andrew Wiggins - Minnesota Timberwolves - The only guy I know comfortable with turning down $148 million dollars.
18. Victor Oladipo - Indiana Pacers - If he only played as well as he sings.
19. Lou Williams - Houston Rockets - LouWill can rap and had two girlfriends at once...and they knew about each other.
20. D'Angelo Russell - Brooklyn Nets - His career hasn't been the same since dropping the dime on Swaggy P.
21. Dwyane Wade - Chicago Bulls - Slowing down but can still make an impact. Will he finish the season as a Bull?
22. Trevor Ariza - Houston Rockets - Has been as healthy and consistent as ever.
23. Zach LaVine - Chicago Bulls - Has a chance to see more production on a team with limited options.
24. Malcolm Brogdon - Milwaukee Bucks - The rookie of the year should be even better. I'm ranking him higher than most.

26. George Hill - Sacramento Kings - Does anyone even remember who he plays for now had I not mentioned it?
27. Avery Bradley - Detroit Pistons - No longer a Celtic and could be more productive in Detroit.
28. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope - Los Angeles Lakers - Amateur hour is over now that he is under the bright lights of Los Angeles.

Tier 5
33. Tim Hardaway Jr. - New York Knicks - Back in New York and needs to play well to justify his $71 million dollar existence.
34. Darren Collison - Indiana Pacers - He should do ok on a team that is rebuilding.
35. Seth Curry - Dallas Mavericks - Will see an even bigger role. Doesn't he have a brother?
36. Jordan Clarkson - Los Angeles Lakers - New weapons in Los Angeles should drop his production.
37. Kent Bazemore - Atlanta Hawks - Can he continue the momentum from the second half of the season?
38. Gary Harris - Denver Nuggets - Inconsistent, but so is everyone on his team.
39. Brandon Ingram - Los Angeles Lakers - Some rank him higher but I'm not sold.
40. Buddy Hield - Sacramento Kings - Will he break out this season?
41. Wesley Matthews - Dallas Mavericks - I like Seth Curry better and am being generous with my ranking.
Tier 6
42. Tyler Johnson - Miami Heat - With all the money he makes, you'd think that he would get his teeth fixed.
