Trading in fantasy basketball can help you improve your team in the short, as well as in the long term. But, even more than that, it's just plain fun. Negotiating with your mate, going back and forth with offers, and hopefully, reaching a mutually beneficial agreement in the end.
It's not always easy to find the right deal that both parties could agree upon, so using the current form to your advantage could be helpful for you to get a deal done, and perhaps even get the most out of it.

Are You for Real, Nikola Vucevic?
Vucevic has been killing it this season with averages of 24.6 PTS and 2.7 3PM on 48.2 FG%, 85.1 FT%, 11.6 REB, 3.7 AST, 1.0 STL, 0.6 BLK and 1.7 TO in almost 34 minutes per outing. These are enough for #5 in Yahoo rankings at the moment. Not too shabby from "the second-best Nikola" in the NBA.
Furthermore, Vooch has been flirting with 1st round value for a few seasons now, so it isn't too hard to imagine him keeping this up if his situation remains the same. But, will it?
Nikola is involved in trade rumors (again), and with Orlando having the second-worst record in the East, it's not out of the question that they will try to cash in on their best player who is turning 31 this year. Should he leave Orlando, it is really difficult to see him going to a team that will be as good a fit for fantasy purposes and allow him as much usage as he is getting at the moment.
This is the sole reason why I would be looking to swap Vooch for another first-round player - around the top 10 would be my aim. Bradley Beal, Damian Lillard or even LeBron James would be some of the guys I would be targeting as they all have a pretty safe value and are all currently a bit below Vucevic in production, so a trade just might pass if their managers value Nikola, or are in need of some big man stats.
Baller Move: Sell high
Time to Panic on Jrue Holiday?
Jrue has joined Milwaukee this season, and hasn't been bad with averages of 15.3 points and 2.3 threes on 49.5% from the field and 76.6% from the charity stripe, 4.3 boards, 5.1 dimes, 1.8 steals, 0.5 blocks and 1.6 turnovers in almost 31 minutes a game. This has him around top 50 on the year. However, his fantasy managers were expecting more from him.
It has gotten bad when Jrue missed three weeks of action due to COVID-19 protocols, and his owners were stuck waiting for him to return. And things went from bad to worse upon his return as he is averaging just 7.0 PTS, 0.3 3PM on 36.0 FG%, 50.0 FT%, 1.0 REB, 3.0 AST, 1.0 STL, no BLK and 2.0 TO in 20 minutes a night over the three games since he's been back. These poor performances don't even warrant a top 300 rank in the past 7 days.
Now, of course this is just rust, and Jrue will most probably be back inside the top 50 when the season resumes after the All Star break. But his fantasy GMs might just be fed up with the wait and then the disappointment, so a reasonable offer of someone near, but below the top 50 might just do the trick.
Terry Rozier is insanely hot, but shouldn't be near Jrue's value ROS. Lonzo Ball has also strung together a few decent performances, but has much more question marks about his future and therefore his future value. Michael Porter Jr. is hot and cold, and with his injury history, I would much rather take a bet on Jrue. If you can get Holiday for someone who you believe will not be on his level when the season continues, I would definitely be tempted to use his cold streak and pull off such a deal.
Baller Move: Hold or buy low.
