Juan Soto Injury Update
New York Yankees outfielder Juan Soto (hand) was back in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. The superstar outfielder suffered a hand injury during Friday's contest. As a result, Soto sat out on Saturday and it was assumed he'd sit out the whole weekend with imaging scheduled for Monday.
Oddly enough, Soto was back in the lineup, batting second and playing right field. He singled in his first plate appearance against right-hander Kevin Gausman. (MLB.com)
Mike Trout Injury Update
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (knee) is progressing from knee surgery, yet there remains no timetable for his return from the injured list. Trout said he is "feeling really good" and "relieved" as he is close to running and hitting in the cages. He is currently playing catch and jogging on the Alter-G Treadmill.
Mike Trout (knee) said he "feels really good" and is "relieved" after turning the corner in his rehab. He's getting close to running and hitting in the cages. He's playing catch and jogging on the Alter-G treadmill. Said he hopes to be back by late July but no official timetable.

Before being placed on the injured list on April 30, Trout slashed .220/.345/551 with 10 homers, 14 RBI, 17 runs scored, and six steals. He did say he would be "disappointed" if he isn't back by the end of July, something fantasy managers would feel in unison. Patience continues to be the watchword on Trout's actual return. Fantasy managers should continue to stash Trout in all leagues as the superstar outfielder aims for a July return.
Corey Seager Injury Update
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager (wrist) avoided serious injury to his left wrist after being hit by a pitch during Saturday's 6-5 loss at the Baltimore Orioles. Seager, who earlier hit his 15th homer in the first inning, left in the fifth after being hit by Orioles starter Cade Povich. X-rays proved negative, and the club will further re-evaluate Seager on Sunday.
Initial X-rays on Seager's left wrist are NEGATIVE. He will be re-evaluated tomorrow, but it appears upon first diagnosis there is NO FRACTURE

He is slashing .260/.345/.451 with 37 RBI and 34 runs scored with a .796 OPS. Seager is considered day-to-day and is expected to miss Sunday’s series finale. Third baseman Josh Smith, who moved to short when Seager exited, will handle shortstop duties for the Rangers with Seager sidelined. Smith is slashing .293/.385/.459 over 78 games in 2024.
Gabriel Moreno Injury Update
Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Gabriel Moreno (thumb) appears to be extremely close to making a return to the field. The organization believes that Moreno could be activated as early as Tuesday. The 24-year-old was placed on the injured list last Saturday due to a sprained left thumb.

The D-Backs have said they don't believe Moreno will require a rehab assignment. That being said, Moreno should be back in the D-Backs lineup in the middle of the week. Tucker Barnhart figures to see additional playing time until Moreno returns.
Mitch Garver Injury Update
Seattle Mariners catcher Mitch Garver (wrist) was removed early during Sunday's game against the Minnesota Twins. Garver was hit by a pitch during the second inning.
And Cal Raleigh will transition from DH to catcher to begin the 3rd inning.
That will put Luis Castillo into the lineup, batting sixth in Mitch Garver's spot. https://t.co/Pw4HGMmtl1

He was able to stay in and run the bases, but Garver left the game afterward. The team is calling the injury a right wrist contusion. For the moment, fantasy managers should consider Garver as day-to-day. Cal Raleigh figures to see a majority of the time behind the plate until Garver returns.
Josh Jung Injury Update
Texas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung (wrist) had his hitting progression pushed back again on Saturday, with manager Bruce Bochy saying that Jung will visit with a specialist on Monday to evaluate the readiness of his surgically-repaired right wrist. Bochy said Jung will not test the wrist in batting practice this weekend as originally planned.
Because he will require a ramp-up of at least seven to 10 days that could include more minor-league rehab games once he's medically cleared, the delay makes it possible that he won't be ready to return to Texas' active roster until after the All-Star break. The 26-year-old has been out since suffering a fractured right wrist on a hit-by-pitch on April 1 and had his first rehab assignment shut down last week due to a flare-up of tendon inflammation above the surgery site. Fantasy managers must remain patient and keep the right-handed slugger stashed in all leagues. (MLB.com)
Javier Baez Injury Update
Veteran shortstop Javier Baez (back) hopes to begin a rehab assignment this coming week for the Detroit Tigers. Baez is hitting .183 with one home run, 25 RBI, and 15 runs. He is expected to report to Triple-A Toledo on Monday. Manager A.J Hinch reported that if all goes well this week, the team expects Baez back on the major league roster for the week before the All-Star break.

Baez has been a disappointment for the Tigers who hope to recoup some of their investment if Baez can play better in the second half of the season.
Gavin Williams Injury Update
Cleveland Guardians starting pitcher Gavin Williams (elbow) has been reinstated off the injured list on Sunday. The former top prospect will make his return to Cleveland after being sidelined since the beginning of the season due to elbow inflammation. This is great news for the Guardians rotation considering how well Williams pitched with the big-league club last season.
The Guardians have optioned Triston McKenzie to Triple-A and reinstated Gavin Williams from the IL.
— Mandy Bell (@MandyBell02) June 30, 2024
He posted a 3.29 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and 81/37 K/BB ratio across 16 starts. The Guardians might ease him back into things right away. However, Williams should be a reliable fantasy contributor once he's back up to full speed. In a corresponding move, right-hander Triston McKenzie heads back to Triple-A after struggling early on this season.
