Welcome, RotoBallers, to my catchers' fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups for Week 25 of the 2024 MLB season. This week, we'll examine catchers such as Joey Bart, Austin Wells, and Freddy Fermin.
These catchers have been hitting the ball well lately and are great pickups as we look ahead to next week. Let's dive in and discuss why fantasy managers should pick up Amaya, Wells, and Fermin this weekend.
All three catchers are rostered in under 40% of Yahoo! leagues. If you have any waiver-wire questions about the catcher position, don't hesitate to contact me on Twitter/X (@winesportstalk).

Fantasy Baseball Catcher Waiver Wire Adds
Joey Bart, Pittsburgh Pirates (18% Rostered)
Now that the Pirates are out of the playoff race, they will be looking to give their younger players more time on the field, including Joey Bart. With Henry Davis sticking around, Bart should get more catcher starts than anyone else (Yasmani Grandal shouldn't see much playing time going forward).
Bart is slashing .272/.347/.497 this season, with a 133 wRC+, .226 ISO, and 12 home runs, four of which were in the last 30 days.
Austin Wells, New York Yankees (29% Rostered)
After missing two games due to being hit on his hand by a pitch, Wells returned and accounted for most of New York's scoring Friday night, hitting a two-run single in the game's early innings. He will likely be behind the plate whenever the Yankees face a right-handed starter.
Wells is batting .252/.343/.432 this season: .263/.349/.483 against right-handed pitchers, and .299/.387/.504 since the All-Star break, with six home runs and 24 RBI.
Freddy Fermin, Kansas City Royals (9% Rostered)
I feel like Mr. Fermin is on this list every week! The right-handed catcher is slashing .290/.340/.397 this season, and although he had a slow August, his numbers for September are slowly creeping up to his pre-All-Star break numbers of .291/.344/.411.
Kansas City is mainly facing right-handed pitching next week, but three of their games are against the Yankees, against whom Fermin is slashing .333/.333/.583 this season.
