You’re My Boy, Blue
This title has little to do with who I am going to write about, but he is on my team as my number two catcher and he deserves some respect. And since he is on my fantasy baseball team, I feel as though I can name him however I want. He does wear a blue uniform, and he kind of came out of nowhere so whatever, it works.
Dioner Navarro is the man of the hour in this discussion, so those of you in shallow leagues can skip this. I decided to write a little about Navarro because nobody else is (at least to my knowledge) and if they are, then I haven't seen it. I believe that Dioner Navarro should be the starting catcher for the Northsiders. I am not a big numbers guy but let’s take a look inside the numbers and compare Welington Castillo to Dioner Navarro. One key factor to remember while looking at these statistics is that Castillo has played more than half the games that Navarro has. Below is a comparison of the numbers:

So as you can see, Navarro’s stats are far superior to Castillo’s, even while playing half the games. I heard or read somewhere that Navarro had a great off-season program and even spent some time working on his hitting with the one and only Joey Votto. I have to believe that working with Mr. "I hit the Lotto" Votto is part of the reason for his success. Another tidbit of information to remember is that Navarro was once a highly regarded prospect, and maybe its finally starting to come together for him. In any event, if you are in a deep, two-catcher league, then grab Navarro as your number two guy. Hey, Yo, Navarro, you’re my boy blue!
