Waiver Wire for Shallow Leagues (30-50% rostered)
Josh Naylor, 1B/OF, Cleveland Guardians (30% rostered)
Naylor has homered in back-to-back games for the Guardians, with a monster game on Saturday night against Los Angeles. He hit a dinger and three RBI. While his .205 batting average and .626 OPS on the season certainly aren't attractive, the former first-rounder could be worth a stream as his last few games may be an indication that he's heating up.
J.D. Davis, 1B/3B, San Francisco Giants (43% rostered)
Davis has had somewhat of a resurgence since joining the Giants. This season, the 30-year-old is slashing .300/.368/.500 with seven home runs and 22 RBI. He hasn't slowed down in his last seven games either, hitting .348 alongside an OBP of .407, eight hits, three RBI, and three walks. If he hasn't been scooped up in your league already, it may be time to add Davis' hot bat to your lineup.
Waiver Wire for Deeper Leagues (10-30% rostered)
Alex Kirilloff, 1B/OF, Minnesota Twins (10% rostered)
Kirilloff made his season debut on May 6 and has gotten off to a hot start. Across 22 plate appearances, he's batting .438 alongside an insane 1.466 OPS. The Pittsburgh native has clobbered two homers and collected three RBI, as well as six walks. A small sample size, sure, but it's an encouraging start for the 25-year-old and the first-place Twins.
Nick Pratto, 1B/OF, Kansas City Royals (19% rostered)
The former first-round draft pick has been a bright spot for the last-place Royals. The 24-year-old did a bit of back-and-forth between Triple-A and the major league club in April, but based on his recent performance, it looks as though he's here to stay.
Pratto has shined in 17 games for Kansas City, slashing .351/.431/.544 with five doubles, two home runs, and 13 RBI. Beware, though, as the 14th overall pick in 2017 has also struck out 20 times in 65 plate appearances.
Deeper Waiver Wire Options to Consider (Under 10%)
Luke Raley, 1B/OF, Tampa Bay Rays (9% rostered)
The Rays' lineup is dangerous from top to bottom, hence their MLB-best record of 30-11. The 28-year-old Raley has gotten off to a career year, setting a new career-high in home runs with eight in just 29 games, along with 17 RBI and a .933 OPS. The Ohio native is minimally rostered at the moment, so be sure to grab him before the rest of your league catches on.
More Players to Consider
- Miguel Vargas, 1B/2B - Los Angeles Dodgers (46% rostered)
- Casey Schmitt, 3B - San Francisco Giants (35% rostered)
