FanDuel Strategy Nuances (PGA DFS)
Before we dive into the FanDuel plays for this week, we are going to be comparing the prices of golfers on the FD slate to that of the DraftKings slate in order to figure out some value for the respective golfers. We get an extra $10,000 ($60,000 salary limit in FanDuel) to spend on the same six guys, so there is an opportunity to build some really optimal lineups if we find the right guys. The average increase per player should be $1,666.67 ($10,000/6).
We have tons of great weekly PGA articles, DFS analysis, tools, and DFS advice. Be sure to read our other fantastic articles regarding this week's event, including DFS lineup picks for DraftKings/FanDuel, betting advice, DFS prop picks, and course previews.
Below is the difference in salary between the two DFS platforms using the downloadable research station that is part of our affordable Premium Package. It has event history, recent form, DFS scoring upside, and a whole lot more nerdy stuff.
High-Priced FanDuel DFS Plays
Collin Morikawa ($11,000, $1,900 difference)
If Collin Morikawa continues to trend the way he has over his last three appearances at Augusta, his trend of (minus 8 spots and then halving his prior year's finishing position) should get him inside the top 3 this week after finishing 5th, 18th, and 44th. Each year he is figuring out how to play better around the nuanced Augusta Golf Club. If he brings his patented ball striking that leads the tour on approach, and continues to putt better in majors, he will no doubt be a contender this week.
Max Homa ($10,400, $1,200 difference)
Max Homa is a completely different golfer this year, and his poor course history should help keep his ownership down. He is the fifth ranked golfer in the world and is going to potentially be 10% owned in some contests at $10,400 salary. He has been sizzling his irons for an extended period of time and when his putter cooks, he is one of the best putters in the world. Watch out for a low owned Max Homa this week.
Dustin Johnson ($10,300 ,$1,500 difference)
Our first LIV golfer will come in the form of Dustin Johnson, a past winner here with seven top-13 finishes in his nine starts where he did not slip on a wooden floor wearing socks. He will be low owned as his form on LIV tour has been questionable, but with a track record like this and the natural talent that Johnson possesses, he may slowly meander his way up the leaderboard and likely contend for another top-10.

Mid-Priced FanDuel DFS Plays
Mid-priced salary differences. Notice how much more red we see in that difference column in this range versus the high-priced range. Bear that in mind when deciding which players to play on either platform.
Hideki Matsuyama ($9,800, $1,400 increase)
Another past winner and finishing inside the top-20 in 7 of his last 8 Masters appearances is more than enough course history to roster a Matsuyama who also has two top-15s in his last pair of starts heading into the first major of the year. He will be low owned as he is usually an injury risk, but the likelihood that a little niggle keeping the Japanese super star out of this event is rather unlikely.
Justin Rose ($9,300, $1,500)
With two runner up finishes and a bunch of top-20s dating back to 2014, the winner of the Pebble Beach Pro-Am will be looking to avoid the runner up spot again, by winning his second event of the year and starting his climb back to World No. 1 where he once stood not so long ago. Rose also tends to play well at courses that he has played well at before.
Russell Henley ($7,800, $800 increase)
Russell Henley missed his first cut at the Masters but has since finished T31 or better in his next five starts. He has no problem navigating the tricky track that is Augusta Golf Club and with Par 5s getting lengthened to force golfers to lay up a lot more now a days, Henley most likely was doing that already, and will now be licking his chops with a wedge into the Par 5 greens along with a lot more others in the field.
Low-Priced FanDuel DFS Players
The below golfers are all candidates to round out your player pool based on their track record at Pebble Beach.
Cameron Champ ($7,400, $800 increase)
The long hitting Cameron Champ will be looking to record his fourth consecutive top-30 at Augusta in as many starts. With distance being a key metric for success at this venue, Champs second-in-field distance off the tee is most likely doing the heavy lifting in his strokes gained around this golf course that seems to get longer every year. Although has been playing rather poorly entering the week, we can expect him to raise his game on a course he evidently seems to enjoy playing.
Kevin Na ($7,400, $900 increase)
Kevin Na has three top-15 finishes in his last three starts and will be super affordable at $7,400 and unlikely to be high owned as nobody knows the level of golf that golfers have been producing on the LIV tour. If Na returns to his form that he has shown around Augusta, he could be an absolute steal at this price.
Charl Schwartzel ($7,100, $700 increase)
Charl Schwartzel is another LIV golfer who will be almost price and very low owned. As a past champion of this event he will be returning to try continue his run of three consecutive top-30 finishes. He also had a 3rd place back in 2017. He loves this golf course and will be another steal at super low ownership.
