It is the week of the RBC Heritage and as we always do in this FanDuel DFS piece, we are going to use Research Station table available to Premium subscribers of all levels to determine who has the best course history and recent form entering the week. Join the RotoBaller squad today for access to this and a whole lot more tools, articles, and discord access.
In this article, we'll discuss some of the standout PGA DFS plays available on FanDuel. While it's impossible to hit on every player, we'll touch on some different plays across all price ranges, breaking the groups down into "High," "Mid," and "Low" price options that are worth considering.
Like always, the purpose of this piece is to help you put together your optimal daily fantasy golf lineups for FanDuel, whether that be from a GPP perspective or a cash-game mentality. Be sure to also read all of our other top-notch weekly PGA DFS and betting articles to help you win big!
FanDuel Strategy Nuances (PGA DFS)
Before we dive into the FanDuel plays for this week, we are going to be comparing the prices of golfers on the FD slate to that of the DraftKings slate in order to figure out some value for the respective golfers. We get an extra $10,000 ($60,000 salary limit in FanDuel) to spend on the same six guys, so there is an opportunity to build some really optimal lineups if we find the right guys. The average increase per player should be $1,666.67 ($10,000/6).
We have tons of great weekly PGA articles, DFS analysis, tools, and DFS advice. Be sure to read our other fantastic articles regarding this week's event, including DFS lineup picks for DraftKings/FanDuel, betting advice, DFS prop picks, and course previews.
Below is the difference in salary between the two DFS platforms using the downloadable research station that is part of our affordable Premium Package. It has event history, recent form, DFS scoring upside, and a whole lot more nerdy stuff. This week we are using Birdies or Better Gained to filter on golfers we are targeting.
High-Priced FanDuel DFS Plays
Scottie Scheffler ($12,400, $500 difference)
To see a $500 difference on an elite player is something you don't see often between the two sites, but because Scottie Scheffler is priced so high on DK its tough to really go much higher than that on FanDuel. If you are planning on playing a lot of Scheffler this week, FanDuel may be the route you want to go as you can fit a lot more guys you like into lineups with Scottie taking up less average salary over here than he is on DK. He is simply the best player in the field by a large margin.
Jason Day ($11,500, $2,100 difference)
With this week most likely seeing scores head into the -20 range over four rounds, you are going to need to hole a lot of putts. Of the top 5 highest priced golfers on the slate, Jason Day is the best putter on Bentgrass by a sizeable margin. On top of his stellar putting he has the ability to ball strike it with the best of them and as a result there is no surprise to see Jason Day on the heels of Scottie Scheffler when ranking golfers by Fantasy Points Gained recently.
Seamus Power ($10,500, $1,600 difference)
Although course history is not necessarily reflective of a golfers success here, Seamus Power has had to rather impressive outings around TPC Craig Ranch since finding its spot on the tour rotation. He also had his first top-20 finish in a while at the Wells Fargo last week. We have seen Seamus string together Top-20s like pearl necklaces, and after last week, we have the first pearl on the string heading into the Byron Nelson and a few Majors.

Mid-Priced FanDuel DFS Plays
Mid-priced salary differences. Notice how much more red we see in that difference column in this range versus the high-priced range. Bear that in mind when deciding which players to play on either platform.
Taylor Montgomery ($9,900, $1,200 increase)
Taylor Montgomery is second in the field when filtering on Long Term Birdies or Better Gained. He is a birdie making machine heading to a birdie fest and hopefully he can find some middling ball striking on a course that will require him to make a lot of birdie putts, which he is very capable of doing.
Aaron Wise ($9,800, $1,500)
Aaron Wise is really good at golf and after taking some time off to get his head in the right place, we can expect him to come out firing at relatively low ownership for what he is capable of. His strokes gained numbers are atrocious, largely due to some big numbers on a handful of holes, which seems like a mental thing vs playing bad golf. If he has eliminated that from his game on his hiatus, we can expect a really good golfer to come out playing some really good golf at fractional ownership.
Will Gordon ($9,500, $1,700 increase)
Will Gordon has the 8th most Birdies or Better Gained in the field over a long term sample size. He finished 24th at Mexico and will be looking to improve on that this week, letting his booming drives and birdie making ability lead the way. His biggest issue is around the greens, with GIR% higher this week than usual, he should be able to dance around that issue for most of the week.
Ben Griffin ($9,000, $1,500 increase)
Not known for his ball striking, Ben Griffin leans on his impressive short game to get most of his scoring done. He has gained the 11th most fantasy points over a short term period and over a long term period he jumps all the way up to 3rd behind Scottie and Monty. Great upside for a golfer several thousand dollars cheaper.
Low-Priced FanDuel DFS Players
The below golfers are all candidates to round out your player pool based on their track record at Pebble Beach.
Ryan Palmer ($8,600, $1,500 increase)
Ryan Palmer has gained the 26th most fantasy points over a long term period and recently is actually striking the ball rather well over the last 24 rounds. He now heads to Texas where he is really comfortable and should look to put together a solid performance with recent form and comfortability merging into a wonderful opportunity for success.
Erik Van Rooyen ($8,300, $1,200 increase)
Over the last 10 rounds only Scottie Scheffler has gained more strokes on approach than Erik Van Rooyen. If we change the filter on the research station to the last 50 rounds, EVR only has 5 other golfers who have struck it better than him with the irons over that time frame. As a result of this impressive recent iron play, he ranks 12th in Birdies or Better Gained recently. A lot of important metrics lining up for the big hitting South African.
