FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (1/9/21): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Dennis Clausen highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 1/9/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

We have an exciting weekend on the agenda. With NFL Wild Card action taking place and seven NBA night games on tap, DFS contests will be running full-speed. On Friday night, we witnessed some solid performances, notably from Caris Levert, who finished with over 50 fantasy points, thanks in part to the absences of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, and Royce O’Neal, who nearly hit 11 times his value against the Bucks.

There are plenty of injuries listed throughout the association on Saturday, so fantasy managers should monitor things throughout the day as there is plenty of value to go around. Karl-Anthony Towns, who has been out with a dislocated wrist, has been upgraded to questionable. However, even if he can play, he shouldn’t be an option as he will undoubtedly be limited in some capacity.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 1/9/21. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. You can also check out DraftKings lineup picks and injury news before lineups lock. Good luck, RotoBallers.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Cole Anthony, PG - @ DAL ($4,800)

Markelle Fultz was lost for the remainder of the season—and possibly beyond—after tearing his left ACL on Wednesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. With Fultz out of the picture, Anthony may continue to see an uptick in minutes at the one spot. The 15th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft saw 28 minutes on Friday night against the Houston Rockets, finishing with 15 points. Although Aaron Gordon and Evan Fournier didn’t play in that contest, Anthony’s rostering cost is too reasonable to pass up, especially when trying to acquire some of the costlier DFS options on Saturday.

Raul Neto, PG - vs. MIA ($4,200)

With the Wizards playing the second of back-to-back outings, Russell Westbrook will likely sit out for load management purposes. If so, Neto may draw the start or see an increase in time on the floor. The 28-year-old has started two games this season, with one of them including a value shattering 41.3 fantasy point performance against the Minnesota Timberwolves at the end of December. He is still a risky option, nonetheless, but he has plenty of upside on Saturday night, especially in GPP contests.

Also consider: Dejounte Murray ($7,100), Patty Mills ($4,100), Ish Smith ($3,800), Bradley Beal ($10,100), Tyler Herro ($5,400), Devonte’ Graham ($5,200), Buddy Hield ($5,200), Kevin Huerter ($4,900), Donte Divincenzo ($4,500)

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Cedi Osman, SF - @ MIL ($5,400)

Collin Sexton didn’t suit up on Friday night in the win over Memphis, which ultimately left a void on the scoring end that Osman was able to help fill. While his shoddy 6-for-19 shooting from the field wasn’t too impressive, he made enough of his shots to exceed his value on the evening by far. If Sexton’s ankle is still bothering him heading into Saturday night, Osman should continue to benefit by getting an increase in both usage and +/- differential.

Justin Holiday, SF - vs. PHO ($4,400)

T.J. Warren suffered a stress fracture in his foot and was forced to undergo surgery as a result. With his absence, the door is open for Holiday to get some extra run moving ahead. In the four games that Warren has missed thus far, Holiday has logged at least 23 minutes while shooting 57 percent from behind the three-point line. Although Malcolm Brogdon, Victor Oladipo, and Domantas Sabonis are still the main threats on the offensive end, there may be enough opportunities to go around for Holiday to be involved against Phoenix.

Also consider: Gordon Hayward ($8,000), Tim Hardaway Jr. ($5,500), Miles Bridges ($4,600), Rudy Gay ($4,600), Cam Reddish ($4,100), Giannis Antetokounmpo ($11,200), John Collins ($6,800), Kelly Olynyk ($5,000), Maximilian Kleber ($4,200)

FanDuel DFS Centers

Andre Drummond, C - @ MIL (@9,200)

Drummond has been putting up some impressive numbers during the 2021 campaign. He is currently averaging 17 points, 14.2 rebounds, 1.8 steals, and 1.6 blocks. He continues to lead the way for a Cavaliers team that appears to be heading in the right direction. The veteran should continue to benefit without Kevin Love in the lineup moving ahead in addition to receiving another potential spike across the board if Collin Sexton doesn’t play against the Bucks.

Also Consider: Bam Adebayo ($8,500), Clint Capela ($6,500), Jakob Poeltl ($3,900)
