Today's DFS picks are based upon FanDuel’s dollar values and they won’t necessarily be the best plays in other formats. Additionally, there's been a lot of weather activity affecting games lately, so check the rain report before committing to a lineup. You definitely don't want a starting pitcher who is at risk of having his start cut short by a rain delay.

Remember, these picks are posted early in the day for your convenience, and without knowledge of the teams’ starting lineups. ALWAYS check starting lineups before finalizing your FanDuel entries.

P: Johnny Cueto (10,200)

By far the top option on the board tonight, Cueto had been on fire prior to his last start against the Cardinals. In his previous five outings he went at least 7 innings while striking out at least 6 all while going 5-0.

His season ERA is still just at 2.20 and he has an impressive 191 strikeouts. As long as he avoids the big bat of Anthony Rizzo he should be able to go another 7+ innings with the potential to strikeout 10+ hitters.

C: Miguel Montero ($2,700)

With Paul Goldschmidt out there is not much to like about the Diamondbacks offense. Montero has tried to keep the offense afloat with a small hitting streak over the last week, and has a nice matchup against the right handed Roberto Hernandez who has been better of late but still carries nearly a 4 ERA and a low strikeout rate.

1B: Adrian Gonzalez ($4,000)

Gonzalez is the BvP play of the day as he is 11/24 with 2 homeruns career off of Arizona starter Trevor Cahill. After struggling for a few weeks, A-Gonz has found his stroke of late and has a few multiple hit games over his last three. With 53 extra base hits on the year it is clear he still has the fantasy potential that makes him a great play tonight.

2B: Jose Altuve ($3,500)

One of the breakout stars of the fantasy season, Altuve remains a consistent fantasy force on the year. Despite a fairly low price, the AL batting leader continues to produce with 68 runs and 47 stolen bases on the year. His power has perked up lately as he has 2 homeruns and 9 RBI over the last two weeks. Look for him to keep it up tonight.

SS: Jose Reyes ($3,800)

With the Blue Jays struggling of late many may look past Reyes’ play. However, the spark plug at the top of the lineup has continued to hit with a .358 average over the last two weeks. Although he has only stolen 1 base over that time, Reyes has scored 9 runs and driven in 7. At home tonight the Blue Jays should be able to tee off on Ruby de la Rosa and the Red Sox.

3B: Brock Holt ($2,700)

Speaking of leadoff hitters in the Red Sox-Blue Jays game, Holt continues to sit at the top of the Boston lineup. He has certainly cooled off from the hot start he had, however he still gets to hit at the top of a lineup that features Pedroia, Cespedes, and Napoli. Holt has only faced the knuckleballer Dickey 4 times in his career but a lefty on righty match-up should make for a good play tonight at a bargain price.

OF: Alex Gordon ($3,400)

The Royals are rolling thanks in large part to Gordon who has multiple hits in 5 of his last 10 games. He also has an amazing match-up against Ricky Nolasco who has been bad recently. In 11 career at bats Gordon does have two doubles so he does see the ball well. Look for the streaking Royals to pounce all over the Twins pitching tonight.
