Hello RotoBallers! We have a nice-sized Sunday main slate to dissect with lots of batting and pitching options for us to consider. FanDuel DFS Pitchers
Cash Game/GPP Anchor Play:
Lance McCullers Jr. - HOU vs. MIN ($9,800)
One of the safer matchups on this slate is Lance McCullers Jr. against the Minnesota Twins. McCullers Jr. is 9-2 on the season with a 3.02 ERA and is coming off of a solid month of July where he went 3-1 with a 3.86 ERA and recorded eight or more strikeouts in all five games that he started. The Twins lineup isn't the same dangerous lineup that we saw earlier in the year as they moved slugger Nelson Cruz to Tampa Bay and despite their most recent success against right-handed pitchers over the last 14 days, they have six batters who carry a strikeout rate that is greater than 21% and face a pitcher who has a 29.4% strikeout rate and a 12.2% swinging strike percentage on the year.
Alternate Play(s)
Max Fried - ATL vs. WSH ($8,000)
If the Nationals decide to throw out another watered-down lineup on Sunday afternoon, Fried easily comes into play as a pitching option on this slate. He has been solid over his last four starts as he has pitched a combined 24 innings, allowed nine total runs, and struck out 27 total batters. Fried has a 24.2% strikeout percentage on the season and is doing a great job of generating soft contact as he has a 22.3% soft contact percentage. If Fried can get around Josh Bell and Yadiel Hernandez, he should have a pretty good day from a fantasy standpoint.
Other recommended value pitching options: Michael Wacha vs. Baltimore Orioles

FanDuel DFS Infielders
Buster Posey- C/1B, SFG @ MIL ($3,100)
One of the best overall plays on the slate for both formats is Buster Posey. He has dominated lefty pitching all season long as he is hitting .400 and has a .250 ISO against that handedness. His pricing is extremely favorable and with him having a 46% hard-hit percentage and an XwOBA of .554 against lefties this year, he is viable in all formats if he draws into the Giants lineup on Sunday.
Ozzie Albies - 2B, ATL vs. WSH ($3,300)
Another top play that seems priced a tad too low for his upside is Ozzie Albies. He will go up against lefty Patrick Corbin and Albies has fared well against Corbin as he has a .350 batting average in 20 plate appearances. Albies has been one of the best Braves batters when it comes to facing lefty pitchers as he has a .315 batting average and is tied for the team lead in home runs six against this handedness.
Mike Moustakas - 2B/3B, CIN vs. PIT ($2,500)
Moustakas just returned from the IL over the weekend and the pricing has not fully caught up to him on FD. He is at a pretty low price point and since he returned, he has recorded three hits in seven at-bats while also managing to draw two walks. Bryce Wilson will be on the bump for the Pirates and lefties have accumulated an ISO of .210 against him which bodes well for Moustakas as he is one of the better power-hitting lefties on this Reds squad.
Marcus Semien - SS, TOR vs. BOS ($3,900)
If you're planning on paying up at the shortstop position, Marcus Semien would be one to consider as he looks to be one of the best all-around options at the position. Semien is hitting .279 against righties and has 19 home runs which are the second-most home runs hit against right-handed pitchers on this Blue Jays team. With Richards notable struggles against right-handed batters, it's hard to not like Semien in this matchup.
FanDuel DFS Outfielders
George Springer OF, TOR vs. BOS ($4,200)
One of the top bats on this slate looks to be George Springer. He has been seeing the ball and scoring well as he has hit double-digit FD points in six out of his last nine games played. Springer is a top Blue Jays bat when it comes to facing right-handed pitchers and righties have tortured Garrett Richards this year as they're averaging .318 against him this season. Springer has a .368 ISO against righties and profiles extremely well against Richard's fastball as he has a .788 ISO and a .676 XwOBA against that pitch.
Jorge Soler- OF, ATL vs. WSH ($3,300)
Soler is another Braves batter that you should consider, especially in it comes to constructing your tournament builds. Despite having a very low average, Soler is sporting an ISO of . 313 against lefty pitchers and also has a 53.8% fly-ball rate. Corbin relies on his sinker against right-handed batters and Soler profiles well against this pitch as he has a .333 ISO and a .483 XwOBA against that pitch.
Darin Ruf – OF, SFG @ MIL ($2,600)
A great value option out in the outfield is Darin Ruf. He is another Giants batter that hits well against left-handed pitchers as he sports a .280 batting average and is second on the Giants team with six home runs against this handedness. He has really good power numbers as he has a .303 ISO and a 52% hard-hit percentage and right-handed batters have hit 75% of the home runs allowed by Brett Anderson this year.
