FanDuel DFS Pitchers
Gio Gonzalez - MIL vs TEX - $7,100
It's hard to go wrong with Walker Buehler as your ace tonight, but if you're looking to save payroll at starting pitcher, look at Gonzalez as a value play. He's had good results through nine starts with the Brewers this year, posting a 3.35 ERA with a 3.17 FIP, and he should be back to full strength after a shortened outing last week in his return from the injured list. Gonzalez gets to face a Rangers lineup that has a 26.3% K-rate against lefties, which is fourth-highest in the league.
Cal Quantrill - SDP vs COL - $7,000
Quantrill is another cheap starter who will likely be at a low ownership rate, making him another contrarian option to consider outside of the top pitchers on the board. He's in an extremely pitcher-friendly park against the Rockies, who have been the second-weakest lineup on the road with their .286 wOBA. Quantrill is far from an exciting option, but he's managed a 3.57 ERA this year and will give you plenty of cash to spend on your bats.
FanDuel DFS Infielders
1B - Albert Pujols - LAA at BOS - $2,800
Pujols has been surprisingly useful against left-handed pitching this year with an .807 OPS and just a 12.6% K-rate. He's facing one of the worst pitchers on the slate in Brian Johnson, owner of a 6.88 ERA with a 2.12 HR/9, in one of the best hitter's environments in Boston. The Angels should put up lots of runs against Johnson, which will lead to RBI opportunities for Pujols.
2B - Adam Frazier - PIT at STL - $2,800
Frazier has been slumping hard lately but still holds value as the Pirates leadoff hitter. He may see multiple chances to score against Dakota Hudson, who is an obvious regression candidate with a 5.37 FIP and a 4.98 SIERA - he already has a 5.76 ERA over the last month. Frazier is a low-priced option in cash games, as his extra plate appearances are more scoring opportunities.
3B - Jose Ramirez - CLE at MIN - $3,400
Expect to see significant price correction on Ramirez coming soon, as he's one of the hottest hitters in baseball, batting .333 with an 1.188 OPS and six homers over the last two weeks. He's looked like the elite version of Ramirez over the last month with nine homers and five steals. Opposing starter Devin Smeltzer has a poor 4.59 FIP, surviving on a .208 BABIP, so expect regression here.
SS - Didi Gregorius - NYY at TOR - $3,400
Didi is in a similar situation as Ramirez in facing a rookie starting pitcher who has overperformed in Sean Reid-Foley. SRF has 14 walks to 18 strikeouts in 21 2/3 innings and will likely get crushed by the Yanks in a hitter-friendly ballpark. Didi is an affordable way to get in on the action, as he should see many counting stats batting third.
FanDuel DFS Outfielders
Khris Davis - OAK at CWS - $2,800
The Athletics are one of the most appealing teams to stack tonight against Ross Detwiler, a pitcher with a 6.71 FIP and a 2.86 HR/9. Davis is one of the cheapest A's bats you can grab and is a perfect buy low in this power upside scenario. Even in a down year, Davis still holds a .484 slugging percentage against left-handed pitching and is in a better park to go deep away from home.
Jorge Soler - KAN at DET - $3,600
Soler has been quietly crushing it with the Royals this season, with 31 home runs and a 132 wRC+ against right-handed pitching. He should be used in GPP contests for the possibility of a huge game against Edwin Jackson, who has an 11.12 ERA and really shouldn't be in the majors.
