We have a six-game slate giving us plenty of options to pick from, so ownership should be spread out. There are a few big name arms on the bump tonight, so you will be looking to have exposure to them in your lineups.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 8/9/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers
J.A. Happ - P, NYY vs TEX (FD - $8,400)
Happ is coming off the DL, not from an injury, but from a children's disease, so take that for what you will. He will be at home and comes in as a -195 favorite against the Rangers, who have a 23% strikeout rate vs left-handed pitchers this season, which is ninth worst in the league. Happ has only allowed two earned runs over his last three starts while racking up six or more strikeouts in two of those starts. Happ isn't too expensive, which is great on slate we have Coors Field, which will help you jam those bats in your lineups.
Rick Porcello - P, BOS @ TOR (FD - $9,200)
Porcello has two good starts over his last three, where he allowed only one run while adding 15 strikeouts in those two games. Tonight he finds himself up against the Blue Jays, who come in with a 22.8% strikeout rate this season vs right-handed pitchers, which is 10th worst in the league. For his price and for the matchup, Porcello should be one of the higher owned pitchers on this smaller six-game slate. It should be noted that he has faced Toronto three times this season and has given up 13 earned runs in just 15.2 innings pitched.
FanDuel DFS Infielders
Greg Bird - 1B, NYY vs TEX (FD - $2,700)
Bird is too cheap for his upside, especially if used in a stack tonight. He comes in with a .199 ISO this season vs right-handed pitchers, which should fit perfectly against Ariel Jurado, who is giving up a 45% hard contact rate to lefties this season. That short porch at Yankee Stadium is calling his name tonight.
Brian Dozier - 2B, LOS @ COL (FD - $4,100)
Dozier and the Dodgers are at Coors Field tonight, so an instant bump to their bats, who are already a very dangerous team. He is the most expensive second basemen on the slate tonight, but he comes in with a .330 wOBA vs lefties this season and is up against Tyler Anderson who is giving up 1.30 HR/9 to righties this season.
Adrian Beltre - 3B, TEX @ NYY (FD - $3,300)
Beltre has hits in four of his last six games with one home run and three RBIs, along with being in a spot to continue that trend. His .329 wOBA vs left-handed pitchers and positive park factor tonight should make him a nice contrarian play against Happ, who should be decently popular.
Trevor Story - SS, COL vs LOS (FD - $4,200)
Tough to pass on some hitters from Coors Field if you have the salary, so jam Story and the Rockies in your lineup if you have the salary. He comes in with a .237 ISO vs right-handed pitchers this season and will be up against Ross Stripling, who will be making his first start off the DL, so we don't know what kind of form he is in.
FanDuel DFS Outfielders
Kevin Kiermaier - OF, TAM vs BAL (FD - $2,900)
Kiermaier is up against David Hess, who is giving up a .376 wOBA to lefties this season, along with a 48% fly ball rate, but comes from a smaller sample size. This isn't the best hitter's park in the league, but Kiermaier is pretty cheap and can slot into any lineup.
Starling Marte - OF, PIT @ SFG (FD - $3,600)
Marte comes in with a .198 ISO this season vs left-handed pitchers and has one home run in his last two games. He is up against Andrew Suarez, who is giving up a .366 wOBA to righties this season along with 1.55 HR/9 to righties while at home this season. A nice one-off in a GPP lineup tonight.
