FanDuel DFS Pitchers
Max Scherzer - P, WAS vs BAL (FD - $12,200)
Anytime Scherzer is on the slate I do everything I can to have a ton of exposure to him. Hot taek, I know. In all seriousness, he is the best pitcher in the league and comes in with just silly good numbers. He has a 34% strikeout rate vs left-handed hitters and a 45% strikeout rate vs right-handed hitters. We have a smaller night slate today and he is clearly the top pitcher option. He has put up 10 or more strikeouts in six of his last eight starts while allowing two or fewer earned runs in seven of those games. He is facing off against the Orioles, who have a 24.8% strikeout rate this season vs right-handed pitchers.
Madison Bumgarner - P, SFG vs SDP (FD - $8,600)
Bumgarner is back from his injury and has three very average starts under his belt so far. He only has nine total strikeouts in those three games, while giving up nine earned runs. He simply in the form we know him to have, but this is a good spot for him to get it going again. Bumgarner is at home in a great pitchers park and is up against the Padres who have a 25% strikeout rate this season vs left-handed pitchers, which is third worst in the league. The Padres also have a very average .300 team wOBA vs LHP. Up against a weak team, he has a chance to get a solid start under his belt.
FanDuel DFS Infielders
Anthony Rizzo - 1B, CHC @ CIN (FD - $4,000)
Rizzo is an absolute dream spot tonight and you should consider locking him into all of your lineups. He comes in with a .347 wOBA and a .205 ISO this season vs right-handed pitchers and will have a solid factor in his favor tonight being at the Great American Small Park. He is up against Matt Harvey, who is just terrible. He is giving up 2.48 HR/9 to lefties this season. Big time power upside here.
DJ LeMahieu - 2B, COL vs NYM (FD - $4,100)
If you have the salary, you should always be trying to play the Rockies right-handed hitters when they are at home vs a LHP, as they are today. LeMahieu has a .421 wOBA and a .254 ISO this season vs left-handed pitchers, which should line up nicely since he is up against Steven Matz, who is giving up 1.76 HR/9 to righties this season.
Matt Carpenter - 3B, STL @ MIL (FD - $4,000)
Carpenter has two multi-hit games over his last three outings and is in a nice spot to continue that trend today. He is facing off against Junior Guerra, who is giving up a .290 wOBA to lefties this season, but, gave up a .350 wOBA to lefties last year. We are likely to see a regression to the mean soon, and with Carpenter’s .351 wOBA vs RHP this season, he is in a good spot.
Yairo Munoz - SS, STL @ MIL (FD - $2,600)
Munoz is a bit of a punt play, but with those savings, he allows you to get up to Scherzer as your pitcher. He comes in with a very modest .301 wOBA vs right-handed pitchers this season, which is solid enough for a player at his price point. Just click his name for the savings and move on.
FanDuel DFS Outfielders
Jon Jay - OF, ARI @ PIT (FD - $3,400)
Jay isn’t too expensive today and will come in with the platoon advantage vs Ivan Nova, who is giving up a .369 wOBA to lefties this season. Jay himself has a .348 wOBA vs RHP this season, along with a low 13% strikeout rate. He has a .372 OBP, so he isn’t wasting chances at the plate with strikeouts and puts himself in a spot to score points.
Robbie Grossman - OF, MIN vs BOS (FD - $2,300)
If you want to buy into a bit of BvP, then this could be your spot. Grossman is up against Rick Porcello, who he has faced 13 times in his career, coming away with a .308 AVG and one home run. He isn’t expensive and has some upside against a pitcher he has seen a few times before.
