FanDuel DFS Pitchers
Jacob deGrom: NYM at SDP ($11,100)
After a string of poor starts, deGrom finally looked like himself last time out against the Reds, throwing seven scoreless innings. Even with a few missteps, deGrom still has an outstanding 34.8% K-rate with a 3.13 SIERA this season. Expect deGrom to continue racking up strikeouts against a Padres lineup that has the highest strikeout rate in the league against righties at 27.1%. deGrom's strikeout upside in a pitcher-friendly park in San Diego make him my top starter on the slate.
Cole Hamels: CHC vs MIA ($9,000)
Hamels has been able to continue his success as a Cub into 2019, as he's got a 3.19 ERA with a 24.3% K-rate in 36 2/3 innings. He should be able to dominate against an abysmal Marlins lineup that has just a .259 wOBA versus left-handed pitching. While there's plenty of elite pitching options to choose from tonight, Hamels can give you similar production at a lower price.
FanDuel DFS Infielders
Ji-Man Choi - 1B, TAM vs ARI ($2,900)
Choi has quietly been raking right-handed pitching for the Rays this year, posting a .274/.365/.466 line. He will bat third in the lineup, a great spot for both runs and RBI against opposing starter Merrill Kelly. Kelly's 4.92 FIP suggests that he's been much worse than his ERA shows.
Jose Altuve - 2B, HOU vs KAN ($3,900)
The Astros would be my ideal lineup to stack tonight if they weren't all so expensive. Still, Altuve will be able to produce on his own against Royals starter Jakob Junis, who has a 5.12 ERA. He will see plenty of run scoring opportunities out of Houston's two-hole.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. - 3B, TOR vs MIN ($2,700)
Vladdy is off to a cold start, but the hype surrounding his debut was for good reason. Guerrero should start hitting sooner rather than later, and it helps that he's back at home in hitter-friendly Toronto. Now is the perfect time to buy low on Vlad, because his price is only going up from here.
Jorge Polanco - SS, MIN at TOR ($3,900)
Polanco has been destroying the ball this year, as he's got a 147 wRC+. Not only has Polanco had a power surge, but he's also walking more and striking out less than ever before in his career. For an early season breakout, it looks pretty legit, and I'm buying in on this trip to Toronto.
FanDuel DFS Outfielders
J.D. Martinez - OF, BOS at BAL ($4,300)
Martinez has an absolutely bonkers 1.577 OPS against left-handed pitching this year, and he faces a southpaw in John Means tonight. Camden Yards is one of baseball's top offensive environments, so Martinez could have a monster game.
Adam Eaton - OF, WAS at MIL ($3,500)
Eaton isn't an amazing hitter, but he's got lots of value batting leadoff for the Nationals, where he can maximize his number of plate appearances. He's in an extreme hitter's park against Jhoulys Chacin, owner of a 5.85 FIP, so Eaton should on the bases with scoring opportunities.
