We have a nine-game slate tonight and the pitching options are certainly something, and by that I mean we have no real aces on the mound, so it might be worth taking some shots. There are some of the better offenses on the slate, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding bats you like to hit the lock button on.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/17/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers
David Price - P, BOS vs BAL (FD - $7,400)
Hitting the lock button on Price is never a safe thing, but he has some upside tonight, so he is worth a look. First off, this is a pitcher we saw over $9K earlier this season, so strictly from a salary perspective, you should be somewhat interested due to the price drop. Tonight he is up against the Orioles, who have a 23.4% strikeout rate vs left-handed pitchers, which is 12th worst in the league. Price doesn't come without risk, he is giving up over 1.00 HR/9 to both righties and lefties, and with this being a hitter's park, we could see one or two home runs fly out over the monster.
Chad Kuhl - P, PIT vs SD (FD - $7,700)
If you are looking at pitchers strictly from a matchup perspective, Kuhl has to be on your list. He is up against the Padres, who have a 27% strikeout rate vs right-handed pitchers, which is dead last in the league. Kuhl only has a 21% strikeout rate this season, which isn't that high, but he did have 12 SO over his last two starts. Walks are a bit of an issue for him with his rate up at 10%, so there is some risk of him getting into trouble, but he has only allowed three earned runs over his last two starts.
FanDuel DFS Infielders
Joey Gallo - 1B, TEX @ CWS (FD - $3,400)
Gallo has a .332 wOBA and a massive .274 ISO this season vs right-handed pitchers, which puts him in a great spot tonight vs James Shields. Yes, the fan favorite gas can is on the mound, so you want to stack against him. Last year Shields gave up a .388 wOBA and 2.82 HR/9 to lefties last year. Holy cow that is terrible, just play Gallo tonight.
Jed Lowrie - 2B, OAK @ TOR (FD - $3,500)
Lowrie is coming off a slow series vs the Red Sox but he is in a good spot to get things going in the right direction tonight. He is up against Aaron Sanchez, who has a 12% walk rate along with a 15% strikeout rate. He can't strike anyone out and letting hitters on base for free. Oddly enough that isn't a good combo, and with Lowrie having a .421 wOBA, he is in a good spot.
Matt Davidson - 3B, CWS vs TEX (FD - $3,300)
Davidson has a .407 wOBA and a .419 ISO vs left-handed pitchers. Yeah, bet you didn't know a player for the White Sox has those types of numbers. Love the matchup vs Cole Hamels today, and with the White Sox having an implied run total set at 4.35, they could go overlooked. Davidson has two home in his last four games but is more of a GPP play.
Manny Machado - SS, BAL @ BOS (FD - $4,900)
Machado is simply the best shortstop on the slate and you should be doing what you can to get him into your lineups. He comes in with a .400 wOBA and a .306 ISO this season vs left-handed pitchers, which are massive numbers and the type you don't want to pass on. He had a three-game home run streak going last week, now on a three-game streak without one, but tonight he is up against David Price, who he has four career home runs against.
FanDuel DFS Outfielders
Jose Osuna - OF, PIT vs SD (FD - $2,500)
Osuna is a nice cheap option in the outfield and will have the platoon advantage against Lauer tonight. Osuna comes in with a .464 wOBA and a .583 ISO vs left-handed pitchers this season. He only has eight games under his belt this season, so the sample size is limited but he has two home runs and six RBIs in this span.
Mitch Haniger - SEA vs DET (FD - $4,000)
Haniger is going to see a slight bump in the batting order with Cano being suspended but what it means is yet to be seen. He has a .456 wOBA and a .260 ISO vs left-handed pitchers this and makes a nice addition to a Seattle stack of righties. I actually really like them as a GPP stack tonight, and hopefully this being a west coast game, it should be lower owned.
