FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (4/5/19): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

We've got three slates to choose from on Friday - the main slate starts at 7:05pm eastern and covers eight games. I'll be featuring players across all three slates.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 4/5/2019. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Shane Bieber - P, vs TOR ($8,900)

After being dismantled by Trevor Bauer, Thursday marked the third time this season that the Blue Jays have started a game with no hits through six innings. Toronto's bats are off to an abysmal start, so Bieber should be able to cruise through this weak lineup in his first start of the season. Bieber was arguably this offseason's most hyped starting pitcher sleeper, coming off of a rookie season with a 3.23 FIP and a 24.3% K-rate. He should excel in this matchup.

Kevin Gausman - P, vs MIA ($7,200)

I think Gausman's price is only this low because he's coming off of the IL, but he seems to be at full strength after throwing 90 pitches in his last rehab start. Gausman performed well after joining the Braves last season, posting a 2.87 ERA in 10 starts. While he doesn't have a ton of strikeout upside, Gausman has an extremely high floor against a Marlins lineup that is among the worst in the National League. He can be deployed in any contest at this price.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Justin Bour - 1B, vs TEX ($2,800)

What if I told you that you can get the guy batting behind Mike Trout for a near punt-level price? Bour will easily see RBI opportunities batting third for the Angels against Lance Lynn, who had an awful 5.11 Deserved Run Average last year. Bour is off to a cold start but has always been a strong option against right-handed pitching, putting up a 123 wRC+ versus righties in 2018.

Rougned Odor - 2B, at LAA ($3,300)

Odor is a player to target in GPP contests for his power upside. He's in a good spot batting second for the Rangers and has the ability to steal as well. These skills are worth chasing in tournaments, although Odor can be avoided in cash games for his boom-or-bust tendencies.

Rafael Devers - 3B, at ARI ($2,900)

DBacks starter Zack Godley got obliterated for seven runs in his first start of the season and may face a similar fate against the dangerous Red Sox lineup. Devers is in a fantastic spot for runs and RBI batting third for Boston, between Andrew Benintendi and J.D. Martinez. He is also an incredibly cheap play.

Corey Seager - SS, at COL ($3,800)

The Rockies home opener is exciting news for fantasy players, as Coors Field is the best offensive environment in all of baseball. Most hitters in Coors have their price adjusted, but it seems like Corey Seager slipped through the cracks at this price. The Dodgers shortstop may be a high-ownership "chalk" play on Friday afternoon, but I can't resist.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Starling Marte - OF, vs CIN ($4,100)

Marte's cold start is probably the reason for his low price, but there's no reason to be worried just a week into the season. Marte should be priced as an elite DFS contributor, but he's much more affordable tonight. He gets another crack at Sonny Gray, who the Pirates pummeled in their first matchup. Marte is an easy buy.

Kyle Schwarber - OF, at MIL ($3,600)

Schwarber is an awesome power bat in Milwaukee, an extreme hitter's park. Batting fifth in the Cubs order, Schwarber can be a great source of RBI and HR.
