FanDuel DFS Pitchers
Corey Kluber- P, CLE @ BAL (FD - $11,500)
Kluber is in an elite spot today against the Baltimore Orioles. He is a massive -200 favorite and the Orioles have an implied team total of three runs, which is the lowest of the slate. Baltimore leads the league in strikeout percentage against right-handed pitching at 28.3%. It's going to be cold and Kluber has a 7.2 K prediction. All signs point to Kluber dominating the Orioles, who are still without Jonathan Schoop or Mark Trumbo.
Lance McCullers - P, HOU @ CHW (FD - $8,800)
McCullers should be a popular mid-range option today for those who choose to pay down at the position. The White Sox are definitely a team you want to target pitchers against. They aren't exactly the Rays but they aren't far behind. McCullers' strikeout percentage of 37.4% is third in the league right now. He is in a ballpark that favors pitchers, it's going to be cold, and the wind will be blowing in from center field at 10 mph. McCullers has a strikeout prediction of eight and is an excellent tournament play.
FanDuel DFS Infielders
Jesus Aguilar- C/1B, MIL vs MIA (FD - $2,700)
Aguilar is a spectacular value play today with immense upside. He has been absolutely crushing the ball to begin the year and has solid recent Statcast data. His walkoff blast on Saturday night could earn him a Sunday start. He has a hard hit percentage of 42% and an average batted ball distance of 235ft. He is a known lefty masher and this trend should continue at home against Caleb Smith.
Jason Kipnis - 2B, CLE @ BAL (FD - $3,000)
The Indians are projected for 4.6 runs against Andrew Cashner and I believe that it's extremely low. Kipnis is projected to hit second in a very potent offense and he's gotten a nice hit streak going to make up for his slow start. He has been hitting the ball well with a fly ball rate of 42% and his average batted ball speed is 3 mph faster than his yearly average. The hitting rotation should be a carousel during this game which will provide tremendous value for Kipnis. Solid value play in all formats.
Jeimer Candelario - 3B, DET vs KC (FD - $3,600)
Candelario is not a household name by any means but he has been destroying the ball recently. He has an average batted ball distance of 230ft an average exit velocity of 90mph and a 41% hard hit percentage. He is projected to hit second for the Tigers who are projected for a massive implied run total of 4.8 runs. Might not sound like much, but that's really high total for Detroit. He will have minimal ownership and is a fantastic tournament play with elite upside.
Francisco Lindor - SS, CLE vs BAL (FD - $4,300)
This position is very shallow today so there aren't many attractive options outside of Lindor. For this reason, he will most likely be very popular but for good reason. He has decent statcast data and is projected to hit leadoff for the Indians with a 4.6 implied run total. He makes a nice mini-stack with Kipnis and Kluber. A versatile hitter who is immune to pitching splits with amazing HR and stolen base upside. Top option at shortstop today.
FanDuel DFS Outfielders
Giancarlo Stanton - OF, NYY vs TOR (FD - $4,800)
The outfield is loaded today but Stanton really stands out above the rest. I'm not sure what word to use to describe what Giancarlo does to left-handed pitching. He has a monster .513 wOBA and .441 ISO against the lefties. The wind will be blowing out at Yankee stadium at 10mph. With his 57.5% hard hit percentage against Jaime Garcia at home he has 2 HR upside in this matchup.
Rhys Hoskins- OF, PHI vs PIT (FD - $4,900)
Hoskins is one of the best young hitters in the league right now. He just straight up demolishes right-handed pitching with a .433 wOBA and .329 ISO. He has excellent statcast data with an average batted ball distance of 233ft an average exit velocity of 91.2 mpg and hard hit percentage of 48.8%. He is an elite option with massive upside.
Good luck today!
