The New York Islanders are hoping to extend their stay in the bubble going into Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals! Tampa Bay leads the series against New York 3-1. Puck drop should be right around 8 PM EST on Tuesday.
Remember, an over/under of 6 dictates offense when looking around for plays, but an over/under of 5 or sometimes 5.5 tilts towards the goalies. Goals for the Lightning and Islanders have been easier to come by as opposed to their counterparts series in the Western Conference. Tampa Bay and New York have combined for 26 goals scored in four games. Tuesday may offer more players to pick that could provide an offensive spark to DFS lineups than what was available in Monday's game.
This article will provide you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel for September 15, 2020. The picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. For Tuesday, DraftKings and FanDuel will be offering Showdown contests only. Before picking for Showdown Captain Mode contests, it is important to note, the Captain in DraftKings and Fanduel is a crucial pick to add to a roster since the player you draft will earn 1.5x the standard fantasy point value for each statistic. DraftKings Participants can learn more about the rules for NHL Showdown Captain Mode through the following link www.draftkings.com/help/rules/3/127. FanDuel provides a somewhat similar format where a participant would select a captain and four utility players under a $55,000 salary cap. Goaltenders are not available to be chosen under this FanDuel format. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @awlenn. Let's go!!

DFS Forwards to Consider
Nikita Kucherov - RW, TB vs. NYI (FD - $15,000, DK - $16,200)
Kucherov is easily having a Conn Smythe Trophy (Playoff MVP) like postseason. In a 4-1 Game 4 win over New York, the Russian winger had two assists and three shots on goal. The Islanders have had a tough time shutting down Kucherov as he has racked up nine points in just four conference final games. One should consider picking Kucherov as Captain for DFS Showtime lineups with the Tamp Bay forward leading the league in playoff points with 25 in just 17 playoff games.
Matthew Barzel- C, TB vs. NYI (FD - $14,000, DK - $9,000)
Islanders first-line center Matthew Barzel will need to be playing at the top of his game for the Islanders to win Game 5 against the Lighting. Barzel ranks third in points on his Islanders team with five goals and 15 assists. The speedy center leads the Islanders forwards in ice time averaging 19:28 minutes a game. Tampa Bay has been able to contain the 23-year-old as he has just two assists in the series. Look for the young forward to breakout and have a massive game on Tuesday.
Others To Consider
Should Brayden Point be available on Tuesday, the Lightning center needs to be an automatic pick. Point has been dealing with an undisclosed injury since Game 2. He is tied with his teammate Nikkita Kucherov in leading the NHL in points with 25.
For DFS Showdown players, here are some forwards to consider, Brock Nelson, Anders Lee, Ondrej Palat, Anthony Beauvillier, Blake Coleman.
DFS Defenders to Consider
Victor Hedman- D, TB vs. NYI (FD - $11,000 DK - $9,200)
If you decide on a defenseman for a flex/utility spot for Showdown play, Lightning defenseman Victor Hedman will fit in well on DFS lineups. Arguably the most talented defenseman in the NHL, Hedman tallied a goal and four blocked shots in a Game 2 Lightning victory. He has been relatively quiet in the last two games, but he did have a total of 11.6 FPTS during that time.
Other choices for Tuesday Showdown may include Ryan Pulock, Mikhail Sergachev, Kevin Shattenkirk, Devon Toews.
DFS Goalie to Consider
Andrei Vasilevskiy - G, TB vs. NYI (DK - $15,900)
The Russian netminder could be a great pick as a flex player or captain for DraftKings contestants. Vasilevskiy fought off 27 of 28 Islanders shots in a 4-1 victory over New York in Game 4. He leads playoff goalies with 13 wins while having a 0.931 SV%.
