FanDuel, DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup Picks (5/1/19): Daily Fantasy Hockey

Wednesday features a Game 3 and a Game 4. Carolina and St. Louis have chances to take a stranglehold over their respective series. However, can they do it honestly?

Remember, when picking around for plays, an over/under of 6 dictates offense, but an over/under of 5 or sometimes 5.5 tilts towards the goalies. How does Dallas recover after a strange third period that saw them less than two minutes from forcing overtime only for St. Louis to stun everyone with a late goal.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 5/1/19. DFS Forwards to Consider

Sebastian Aho - C, CAR vs NYI (FD - $6,400, DK - $6,600)

Aho came close once or twice in Game 2 but could not find the net. That has to change in Game 3 as New York Has done a solid job in wedging him out of plays just using angles. Aho can fight through that and has shown the ability to do so. With last change, Rod Brind'amour should be able to get Aho up against the third line for New York which represents an easier matchup and gives up more scoring chances than the other lines normally. Aho played better as the Washington series went on and had four double-digit FanDuel point nights to close out that series. The production is there to be had.

Jaden Schwartz - W, STL vs DAL  (FD - $6,100, DK - $5,000)

The winger almost had an even bigger night narrowly missing on at least two excellent chances earlier in the game. However, he scored again in Game 3 and has six goals in his last five games. That includes playing 16+ minutes a night in that span. His scoring chances generated have been increasingly more and more frequent and dangerous. It seems the Blues' forward is finally healthy and producing the way he had been over a season ago.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Alex Pietrangelo - D, STL vs DAL (FD - $6,700, DK - $6,100)

Pietrangelo scored a goal for the first time in ten games during Game 3. Overall, he has nine points in his last ten games on 30 shots on goal. The blocked shots are a pleasant bonus as the Blues' defenseman is averaging just over two blocks a contest. The combined floor is 5.1 which is excellent. If he steadily averages just about one assist per game, Pietrangelo exceeds value slightly every single time. Furthermore, he is used in all situations so Pietrangelo, get used to him Dallas.

Miro Heiskanen - D, DAL vs STL (FD - $4,400, DK - $4,000)

Heiskanen functions as a value defensive play almost on Wednesday night. However, his value shoots up because of his overall offensive play. He has a goal and one assist in his last two games along with with six shots on net, and four scoring chances. The Finnish defenseman creates from anywhere it seems and is rarely caught out of position. Heiskanen plays in all situations and can easily play 23-25 minutes a contest. That gives him a chance to always pop a goal or assist in there. Either way, Heiskanen is a strong buy.

DFS Goalies to Consider

Ben Bishop - G, DAL vs STL (FD - $8,000, DK - $7,900)

Bishop concerns many because of that near scare he had in Game 3 when the leg betrayed him. He allowed four goals in all and looked downright indecisive when it came to handling the puck and stopping rebounds. There were way more dangerous plays near the Dallas goaltender than usual. At least, there is a good chance he sees 30+ shots because, in this series, the more active Bishop is, the better chance he performs well. Curtis McElhinney carries some pretty good value as well and is a few hundred cheaper now.
