NHL is back! We have a six-game slate to look at tonight and we are starting to get a few games into the season, so we should be able to start looking at some more stats soon. Personally, I like Corsi For, which is an advanced shot metric shot which can help identify offensive opportunity.
Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually, 5.5 goals are average, so targets game at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.

DFS Forwards to Consider
Kyle Connor - W, WPG vs LA (FD - $5,500, DK - $5,800)
Connor is decently cheap across the industry and is playing on the always dangerous first line for the Jets. They are at home and come in as a massive -185 favorites against a Kings team, who just lost their top goalie, Jonathan Quick. With Connor also being on the top power-play unit, he has great upside at a price which can be put into any type of lineup. He has a goal in each of his two games this season, which clearly won't be sustainable, but he has eight shots in that span and on the ice for nearly 18 minutes a game.
Pierre-Luc Dubois - C, CLS vs COL (FD - $6,200, DK - $5,500)
Dubois is a very solid player and you don't have to pay a premium price for him. He is on the top forward line and the top power-play unit for the Blue Jackets but comes in as the 11th most expensive center on FanDuel. That role at that price is hard to pass up when he already has one goal, six shots, and seven blocked shots through two games. Filling up the stat sheet is always a good thing, especially in NHL DFS.
DFS Defenders to Consider
Jacob Slavin - D, CAR vs VAN (FD - $4,400, DK - $4,200)
Slavin and the Hurricanes are surprising a few people with their hot start this season and while they won't end up at the top come to the end of the season, we can capitalize on them now. He is on the top defense pairing and the second power-play, playing over 20 minutes per game. He comes in with five shots and eight blocked shots through three games, which is very, very solid for a player at his price range. Like him in a stack tonight versus the Canucks.
Roman Josi - D, NSH vs CGY (FD - $ 5,700, DK - $5,700)
Josi is a stud on defense and brings a solid floor of points, which is great for cash games. Over the past few seasons, he has been with the Predators, he has shown to take multiple shots per game while adding in a few blocked shots per game. That usually is enough for him to reach value, but with him also on the second power-play unit, he has some nice offensive upside.
DFS Goalies to Consider
Connor Hellebuyck - G, WPG vs LA (FD - $8,600, DK - $8,200)
Hellebuyck is looking like a cash game lock tonight as he comes in as a -185 favorite at home. Last season he was on the verge of picking up a Vezina Trophy for best goalie in the league and you expect him to be right back in the mix this year. He has allowed six goals through the first two games, but both of those starts were on the road, he should be much better at home, as he was last season.
