FanDuel DFS Risers/Fallers for Week 14

Player values are constantly moving targets in daily leagues. A high profile player can put together a couple of big games and see his price tag skyrocket. Likewise, a couple of bad games can lead a player's stock to plummet. The correlation isn't always immediate, leading to some discrepancies in value. Savvy DFS players can take advantage of falling values and avoid inflated prices to find the best value on a given night in the hopes of increased success. In this article, I will identify players whose anticipated value relative to their current price is on the rise, making them desirable targets. I will also name players whose value is dipping below their cost, making them players to fade.

Note: I will only be selecting players who are owned in at least 75% of Yahoo! leagues. Graphs are taken from SportingCharts.com's NBA Daily Fantasy Value Tracker and are indicative of values on 1/23/17.

FanDuel Value Risers - Week 14

Deron Williams (PG, DAL) - Another setback for J.J. Barea is good news for D-Will owners. He isn't the player he used to be, and Seth Curry is becoming more of a factor this season, but Williams is still a solid No. 2 guard or flex play. Williams has dished out at least eight assists in the past six games and scored in double-digits all but one of those games. He is often overlooked since much of the shine is gone from his past stardom. His value should rise in the next week or two if he can take advantage of more playing time.

Thaddeus Young (SF/PF, IND) - Young has upped his game lately, providing 5x value or better in four of his last six games. Young is typically more valuable in roto leagues than daily, given that he is not a focal point of the offense and won't often go off for big games. He's only scored 20 or more in a game four times all season. His ability to contribute across multiple categories keeps his ceiling relatively high, making him a solid pick at the forward spot with an affordable price.

Marcus Morris (PF, DET) - Marcus is the lesser hyped of the Morris brothers, but he has been the better value recently. He has produced 35+ FanDuel points in three straight games while coming in at a price tag just under $5K until Sunday. He put up 25 and 11 against the Wizards that day, giving him 20 points in three of the last five contests. Utilize him now while he is putting up numbers.

DeMarcus Cousins (PF/C, SAC) - It's hard to call Cousins a value play, but he could be worth every penny of his current $10,600 salary. His price has been on a slow descent recently, but seems to be commensurate with his production. With Rudy Gay out, Cousins will carry an even bigger offensive load, so don't hesitate to pull the trigger on him with so many other big men constantly in and out of the lineup.

FanDuel Value Fallers - Week 14

Otto Porter (SF/PF, WAS) - There is little to complain about regarding Porter's performance lately, but the last two games could indicate a trend in the wrong direction. After games of 25 and 23 points, he dipped to 14 and 11 in the last two. Porter's price is climbing, however, making this the wrong week to spend on the former Hoya. Porter has been extremely efficient, but is more valuable in rotisserie than daily leagues due to his multi-category production.

Enes Kanter (C, OKC) - You may not have noticed, but Kanter has represented an extremely good value at the center position for most of the year. That time is coming to a close, however, as his price is finally starting to outnumber his production. His FD salary has jumped $1,000 in the last 10 days and is now at the highest point it has been all season at $6,300. His great midseason value is starting to disappear.

kanterdfs

Myles Turner (PF/C, IND) - Although Turner is having a solid season, it hasn't been the best start to the new year for him. He has only collected double-digit rebounds twice in January. The last three games, he has produced a total of 14 boards. The scoring has remained steady, along with the shot-blocking, but he'll need to do more to regain his mid-December value. The good news is that his price is already starting to plummet, so he could be one to turn to in the coming weeks.

turnerdfs

Kristaps Porzingis (PF/C, NYK) - His injury troubles are probably not completely behind him, despite the fact that the Zinger has played in the last three contests. He should be played with caution in the next week or so, both by Jeff Hornacek and DFS players, until he gets back to full strength.
