Below are my FanDuel lineup picks for Saturday, August 8th. My goal with these DFS picks, as always, is to try to choose players who will outperform their expectations. These players can be high-cost players, or they can be sleepers, but we are always looking for players that have a chance to return the greatest value on FanDuel. Additionally, since the weekends generally have many afternoon and night games, I’ll make an effort to distribute my picks to cover all the timeslots going forward so that if you are playing an afternoon/night only league this article will still be useful.
Daily fantasy baseball leagues (DFS) are becoming the thing to do, and here at RotoBaller we are excited to help our users build their bankrolls. I’ll be covering FanDuel lineup picks, sleepers and general advice every Saturday and Sunday. I’ll also be putting my money where my mouth is by entering my final lineup (at the bottom of the article) into one of FanDuel’s many daily fantasy contests, so that RotoBaller users can compete against me.
Editor’s Note: If you play on FanDuel, you should also check out RotoBaller’s DFS Partner DraftKings – they’rehosting a one-day Fantasy Baseball league tonight. It’s FREE to enter and pays out $80,000 in cash prizes!

Last Saturday’s Review
Entry: $1
Winnings: $0
Saturdays For the Season: +$9.78
Pick Highlights: Just missed out on the money here mainly due to a lackluster Lance Lynn start (6pts). The offense did their job. Infield suggestion Manny Machado led the way with 9.5 points, Kyle Schwarber had 8.75, and outfield suggestion Carlos Gomez chipped in 4.5. Close, but no cigar.
Relationship Status: “We need to freshen things up”
DFS Starting Pitchers To Consider for FanDuel
Noah Syndergaard (SP, NYM) - $10,800
Syndergaard is an absolute stud. I think he's the best pitcher on the staff. Thor > The Dark Knight. Use him with confidence.
Jaime Garcia (SP, STL) - $8,000
The good Jaime Garcia is back. The good Jaime Garcia has a 1.98 ERA. The good Jaime Garcia holds current Brewers batters to a .484 OPS in his career. The good Jaime Garcia is here to stay.
DFS Infielders To Consider for FanDuel
Paul Goldschmidt (1B, ARI) - $4,000
I don't know if there is much to say here. Goldy would be my choice for NL MVP this year. He's playing at home where the ball flies and his price is down a bit compared to where it has been for the majority of the season.
Johnny Peralta (SS, STL) - $2,900
Here's what I wrote last week: "He has homers the last two days and he is well on his way to his 6th career 20-HR season. Only Troy Tulowitzki has more such seasons since Peralta entered the league in 2003." He hit another homer this week, inching closer to that sixth 20 HR season and cementing himself as a part of my lineup every day.
DFS Outfielders To Consider for FanDuel
Andrew McCutchen (OF, PIT) - $4,600
Suggesting a former MVP and 5-time All Star isn't really going out on a limb, but considering those accolades, McCutchen is probably undervalued. Since slumping through the first month of the season, Cutch is hitting .315/.409/.536. Not to mention, he's got 3 home runs in just 22 career at-bats against Mat Latos.
Jay Bruce (OF, CIN) - $3,300
Playing in a hitter's park in Arizona, I'll take my chances with Bruce as a guy that is always capable of launching a few homers on any given day.
FanDuel Sleeper Value of the Day
Melky Cabrera (OF, CWS) - $4,200
I know the price doesn't feel like a sleeper price, but I think people will pass over Melky, making him undervalued. Melky is hitting .364 with a .955 OPS career lifetime against off of Jeremy Guthrie. Love the matchup here.
My DFS Lineup on FanDuel
Today I’ll be playing in $15K MLB Sac Fly game today. Remember to check your lineups throughout the day. You never want to get a goose egg for a guy that didn’t play.
