Below are my FanDuel lineup picks for Sunday, July 19th. My goal with these DFS picks, as always, is to try to choose players who will outperform their expectations. These players can be high-cost players, or they can be sleepers, but we are always looking for players that have a chance to return the greatest value on FanDuel. Additionally, since the weekends generally have many afternoon and night games, I’ll make an effort to distribute my picks to cover all the timeslots going forward so that if you are playing an afternoon/night only league this article will still be useful.
Daily fantasy baseball leagues (DFS) are becoming the thing to do, and here at RotoBaller we are excited to help our users build their bankrolls. I’ll be covering FanDuel lineup picks, sleepers and general advice every Saturday and Sunday. I’ll also be putting my money where my mouth is by entering my final lineup (at the bottom of the article) into one of FanDuel’s many daily fantasy contests, so that RotoBaller users can compete against me.
Editor’s Note: If you play on FanDuel, you should also check out RotoBaller’s DFS Partner DraftKings – they’rehosting a one-day Fantasy Baseball league tonight. It’s FREE to enter and pays out $80,000 in cash prizes! Sign up Now and we’ll give you free access to RotoBaller’s Premium DFS Lineup Picks and Tools (a $29.99 value). You’ll also receive a 100% bonus on your first DraftKings deposit.
DFS Starting Pitchers To Consider for FanDuel
Chris Archer (SP, TB) - $10,200
There are a ton of studs pitching today, but I like Archer's matchup the best. Scherzer and Greinke are great, but facing each other. Bumgarner and King Felix are pitching in very hitter's friendly ballparks. So why not go with guy that has pitched to a sub-3 ERA in the first half and is striking out close to 11 batter per 9 innings.
C.C. Sabathia (SP, NYY) - $7,200
If you are looking for a cheaper option I'd take a chance on Sabathia. The Yankees have won three straight series and play Seattle (and their putrid offense) in a rubber game tomorrow. I expect the Yankees to take the game, the series, and for Sabathia to get the win.
DFS Infielders To Consider for FanDuel
Yadier Molina (C, STL) - $2,400
I know the power is gone here and I normally try to get as much power potential in my lineup as possible, but Molina is still a .280+ hitter and has a great track record against opposing pitcher Jon Niese.
Anthony Rizzo (1B, CHC) - $3,900
Paul Goldschmidt is the only healthy option that averages more points per game than Rizzo out of all first basement, yet Rizzo is 6th as far as salary goes.
DFS Outfielders To Consider for FanDuel
Hunter Pence (OF, SF) - $3,200
Pence is still cheap after coming off the DL list just a few weeks ago. He averages 3.2 points per game which ranks behind just five other healthy options tomorrow and is much cheaper than all five. Pence also has great career numbers against opposing starter Patrick Corbin, tagging him for three homers and a .474 average in 19 at-bats.
Adam Jones (OF, BAL) - $3,100
Jones was badly slumping before a two-homer game off of Max Scherzer right before the All-Star break. I'm going to choose to believe that he's broken through and is going to get back to his early-season MVP form.
FanDuel Sleeper Value of the Day
J.J. Hardy (SS, BAL) - $2,400
It has been an ugly season thus far for Hardy, but I still believe in him, or at the very least, his power. He has three career home runs off of opposing pitcher Justin Verlander, so I'm banking on some cheap power here.
My DFS Lineup on FanDuel
Today I’ll be playing in $15K MLB Sac Fly (late) game today. Remember to check your lineups throughout the day. You never want to get a goose egg for a guy that didn’t play.
