Below are my FanDuel lineup picks for Saturday, July 18th. My goal with these DFS picks, as always, is to try to choose players who will outperform their expectations. These players can be high-cost players, or they can be sleepers, but we are always looking for players that have a chance to return the greatest value on FanDuel. Additionally, since the weekends generally have many afternoon and night games, I’ll make an effort to distribute my picks to cover all the timeslots going forward so that if you are playing an afternoon/night only league this article will still be useful.
Daily fantasy baseball leagues (DFS) are becoming the thing to do, and here at RotoBaller we are excited to help our users build their bankrolls. I’ll be covering FanDuel lineup picks, sleepers and general advice every Saturday and Sunday. I’ll also be putting my money where my mouth is by entering my final lineup (at the bottom of the article) into one of FanDuel’s many daily fantasy contests, so that RotoBaller users can compete against me.
Editor’s Note: If you play on FanDuel, you should also check out RotoBaller’s DFS Partner DraftKings – they’rehosting a one-day Fantasy Baseball league tonight. It’s FREE to enter and pays out $100,000 in cash prizes! Sign up Now and we’ll give you free access to RotoBaller’s Premium DFS Lineup Picks and Tools (a $29.99 value). You’ll also receive a 100% bonus on your first DraftKings deposit.
Last Saturday’s Review
Entry: $1
Winnings: $0
Saturdays For the Season: +$6.18
Pick Highlights: I hit gold with Iwakuma scoring 18 points as a middle tier pitcher, but my bats did virtually nothing. Another tough loss.
Relationship Status: “Keep on churning”
DFS Starting Pitchers To Consider for FanDuel
Michael Pineda (SP, NYY) - $9,700
Big Mike gets a struggling Seattle lineup, his former team, at home. I'll be in the house for this one. Pineda is 3-0 lifetime with me watching live and has given up only 2 earned runs. Take that as you will.
Phil Hughes (SP, MIN) - $7,700
If you're looking for a cheaper option, look no further than Phil Hughes. He has dominated the A's in his career holding them to a .211/.288/.318 line. He's a fly ball pitcher which fits the park in Oakland tomorrow.
DFS Infielders To Consider for FanDuel
Salvador Perez (C, KC) - $2,400
Perez is hitting .361 with 2 career homers off opposing pitcher Jose Quintana in just 36 career at-bats. In fact, several Royals have good records off of Quintana so expect plenty of run producing scenarios for Perez.
Eric Hosmer (1B, KC) - $2,600
A pure price play here. So cheap and so talented.
Evan Longoria (3B, TB) – $2,900
Longoria is quietly putting up a solid season, and at this price with multi-HR potential how can you pass him up.
DFS Outfielders To Consider for FanDuel
Melky Cabrera (OF, CWS) - $2,900
.341 in 41 career at-bats against former AL-East rival Jeremy Guthrie.
Brett Gardner (OF, NYY) - $4,300
He was on fire before the break hitting .378 in his last 18 games.
FanDuel Sleeper Value of the Day
Rob Refsnyder (2B, NYY) - $2,200
They brought him up before the break to hit against a couple lefty starters in Boston. Well, he performed well and gets another lefty at home tomorrow so I guarantee he's in the lineup. Everyone says his bat will play in the bigs.
Good luck with your FanDuel and DFS lineups RotoBallers!
