Only nine games scheduled for tonight. It's a peculiar slate in that there are very few games (two, to be exact) with Vegas run totals of 8 or more, but not an ace on the mound to be found. Normally low run total lines are an indicator or strong arms on the mound, but the options tonight leave a lot to be desired.
There are a few "safe" bet pitchers you can roster, but you really need the strikeout upside if you want to make any noise in tournaments. Considering the fact there aren't any studs but stacking options still aren't abundant, the key tonight will be finding home runs and pairing them with an affordable pitcher who has a shot at a win and 5+ strikeouts. Easier said than done, right?

Offenses to Target for FanDuel Stacking
Red Sox RHB versus John Danks
Right-handed batters are slashing a very impressive .306/.359/.520 with a .378 wOBA against Danks this season, and I'm going to load up on Red Sox RHB's tonight. The Sox have really been hit or miss offensively and Danks has pitched fairly well in the last few weeks, which I'm hoping keeps the Sox' players ownership percentages low. Mike Napoli and Xander Bogaerts are strong building points, and both can be had incredibly cheap this evening.
Yankees RHB vs Matt Harrison
The Yankees offense is finally firing on all cylinders, and as a result they've climbed into second in the MLB with over 4.5 runs per game. Tonight they square up with awful Matt Harrison and they do so in home run friendly ballpark. If it's hot and humid tonight, the ball is going to be jumping off the bat. Take a look at the slash line Harrison has allowed to RHB this season - .303/.361/.424. I'm going to build around Mark Teixeira and Alex Rodriguez.
Honorable Mention: Rangers LHB versus Ivan Nova
DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel
It felt odd breaking these guys out into "Cash game" and "tournament" pitchers, so I'm just throwing at you three guys that I think will score a decent number of points and most importantly, return a great deal of value. These guys are in order of my preference for tonight.
- Lance Lynn (SP, STL) - $9,500
- Chris Heston (SP, SFG) - $7,600
- Raisel Iglesias (SP, CIN) - $6,300
DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel
A.J. Pierzynski (C, ATL) - $3,000
AJ has really been swinging it well lately (.429 OBP in last two weeks) and while he doesn't have the most ideal opposing pitcher to face, he does have a .455 slugging percentage against right-handers this season and he gets a nice park factor bump playing in home run friendly Camden Yards.
Mark Teixeira (1B, NYY) - $3,900
Big Teix is a little steep today but he should be worth it, facing the ever weak Matt Harrison in Arlington, a great park for power hitters. As a right-handed hitter facing southpaws this season, Teixeira is slashing .232/.392/.432, striking out in less than 10% of those at-bats.
Mike Napoli (1B, BOS) - $2,400
Napoli is finally starting to piece it all together, hitting .357 overall in the past 14 days. He comes in at a real nice price point today, especially considering he gets to face John Danks in Fenway.
Rougned Odor (2B, TEX) - $4,100
FanDuel's pricing has finally caught up to Odor's ridiculous performance these past few weeks. It's a steep price to pay, but Odor has a nice matchup, a .461 slugging percentage against righties, and I think the dropoff to the next best second baseman on the board is pretty steep.
Mike Moustakas (3B, KC) - $2,600
I'm pretty shocked the first digit after the dollar sign is a "2" for Moose, but I'm certainly not complaining about it. I'm not floored by any of the other third base options and Moustakas owns a career .408 slugging percentage against right-handers and he's hit three home runs over the past five series.
Brandon Crawford (SS, SFG) - $3,100
I try not to cite too many batter versus pitcher stats, but Crawford has hit .417 lifetime off of Lohse and he's also smashing the ball lately, slugging .526 over the past two weeks.
DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel
Carlos Gonzalez (OF, COL) - $3,000
CarGo is hot, and I love the idea of rostering a hitter like him facing off against a contact pitcher that doesn't miss too many bats in Kyle Hendricks.
Chris Denorfia (OF, CHC) - $2,200
Denorfia is slugging .417 against De La Rosa lifetime and he's a .427 slugger against southpaws in his career. A really great cheap option.
Chris Young (OF, NYY) - $2,900
I've said it once and I'll say it again - always roster Young when he's facing a lefty in a home run friendly park. The stars align for him tonight.
Melky Cabrera (OF, CHW) - $3,500
The Melk Man has been scorching for the suddenly in contention (sort of) White Sox. He's always pegged at the top of the lineup, is slugging .619 over the past two weeks and Joe Kelly shouldn't strike any fear in his heart.
Adam Eaton (OF, CHW) - $3,500
Eaton pairs nicely with Melky as a mini-stack essentially, and each have fair price points, playing in the highest Vegas run total line (9) of the night.
Good luck with your FanDuel and DFS lineups RotoBallers!
