Below are my FanDuel DFS lineup picks for Sunday, June 14th. Daily fantasy baseball leagues (DFS) are becoming the thing to do, and here at RotoBaller we are excited to help our users build their bankrolls. I’ll be covering FanDuel lineup picks, sleepers and general advice every Saturday and Sunday. I’ll also be putting my money where my mouth is by entering my final lineup (at the bottom of the article) into one of FanDuel’s many daily fantasy contests, so that RotoBaller users can compete against me.
My goal with these DFS picks, as always, is to try to choose players who will outperform their expectations. These players can be high-cost players, or they can be sleepers, but we are always looking for players that have a chance to return the greatest value. Additionally, since the weekends generally have many afternoon and night games, I’ll make an effort to distribute my picks to cover all the timeslots going forward so that if you are playing an afternoon/night only league this article will still be useful.
Editor’s Note: If you play on FanDuel, you should also check out RotoBaller’s DFS Partner DraftKings – they’re hosting a one-day Fantasy Baseball league tonight. Last Sunday’s Review
Last Sunday we played the Late $30K MLB Squeeze. Here is how we did:
Entry: $2
Winnings: $7.13
Sundays For the Season: +$2.63
Pick Highlights: We finally did well on a Sunday! Honestly, this lineup was close to really breaking through and putting up a serious day with some big time return. Chris Archer dominated on the mound on his way to 22 points. Matt Wieters was the value buy we sought out putting up 9.25 points. Lastly Jay Bruce continued to be productive when I use him putting up a huge 13.5 point day. Had I heeded my own advice and checked my lineup in the hours leading up to the competition I wouldn't have had the Neil Walker goose egg and who knows what could have happened.
Relationship Status: “I feel young again”
DFS Starting Pitchers To Consider for FanDuel
Max Scherzer (SP, WAS) - $11,400
I'm going with Mad Max over Chris Sale today as my high value option. In my opinion Scherzer has been the best pitcher in baseball thus far and he has a better chance to win today against the Brewers than Sale against the Rays.
Adam Warren (SP, NYY) - $6,800
The Yanks have dropped 3 straight and have lost sole possession of the division lead. They need a win in a bad way and I expect Warren to give them that chance. I saw Warren in person last week and he looked sharp, getting the win against the Angels and recording his 5th consecutive quality start. The upside isn't huge, but he's definitely a strong value play.
DFS Infielders To Consider for FanDuel
Adrian Gonzalez (1B, LAD) - $3,400
At this price I just can't stay away from Gonzalez. He's in Petco, but as I've mentioned in past columns Petco isn't playing as the same super-pitcher-friendly environment as it has in the past. He hits opposing pitcher James Shields well (.333, 2HR) and the price is right here.
Yadier Molina (C, STL) - $2,700
The power is gone, but Yadi can still rack up hits and drive in runs on this team. Today he faces off against the pedestrian Joe Blanton so I expect big things.
DFS Outfielders To Consider for FanDuel
Carlos Gonzalez (OF, COL) - $3,400
Has CarGo been bad? Yes. However, he remains a guy that can have a 2 HR game at any point and he crushes Dan Haren. .391 with 4 HR in his career!
Michael Brantley (OF, CLE) - $3,600
To put it simply, Brantley is 10 for 15 against Alfredo Simon in their career matchups.
FanDuel DFS Sleeper Value of the Day
Ben Zobrist (2B, OAK) - $2,600
He's struggled a bit since coming off the DL, but he's too good for this price. I will play him everyday that he sits below the $2,800 mark.
My DFS Lineup on FanDuel
Today I’ll be playing in $30K Sun MLB Squeeze. Remember to check your lineups throughout the day. You never want to get a goose egg for a guy that didn’t play.
