It’s here: The final Friday of the MLB regular season arrives on October 2nd. It was a long season full of plenty of ups and downs, lessons learned, and, hopefully, spoils won. If you are someone who might continue to try their luck into the MLB Playoffs (hey, we still have some time before NBA kicks off right?), then you’re in luck. RotoBaller has you covered with MLB Playoff DFS picks and advice.
Well, I’ve been slowly lessening the amount of advice I give throughout these past few weeks, so I’ll continue that trend and simply let you know that I base my picks off of their price in relation to recent hot streaks, their L/R splits in accordance with wOBA or wRC+, and sometimes that gut feeling you get that tells you, “hey, this guy might put one in the bleachers tonight.” So, there you have it.
If you’re new to MLB DFS and are just getting into this now, send me a tweet @BellRoto, and I can further identify why exactly I picked these players. Also, be sure to check in next year. RotoBaller is continuing to grow by the day, and I’m already excited to kick off content for April 2016! Let’s get to it!
Editor's Note: If you play on FanDuel, you should also check out RotoBaller’s DFS Partner DraftKings - they're hosting a one-day Fantasy Baseball league tonight. It's FREE to enter and pays out $100,000 in cash prizes!

Offenses to Target for FanDuel DFS (Pitchers to Pick On)
The MLB.TV Game of the Day is a good place to start if you’re looking for runs. The Rangers and Martin Perez are hosting the Halos and Jared Weaver. This two pitchers are prone to the long ball, short ball, and everything in between. Big bats everywhere are going to be taking hacks like their playoff lives depend on it. Get some exposure here.
The other game that smells like fire is the Cubs and Brewers game. No, I’m not going to recommend Milwaukee bats against Jake Arrieta. That would be the boldest call of my life. However, Ariel Pena is still a young, unpolished pitcher. The hitter’s boost in Miller Park makes me think the power bats in the Cubbies’ lineup are worth owning today.
DFS Starting Pitchers to Target for FanDuel
Jake Arrieta (SP, CHC) - $12,700
Remember all of that stuff I said about Clayton Kershaw and his price all season? Yeah, well switch the handedness and refer back to those comments. Arrieta is on another planet right now. And who’s going to have to face him in a one-game wild card scenario? Yeah, my Pirates. I’m over the DH thing. Let’s change the WC to three games.
The only downside here is that Arrieta is way overdue for a regression game, but the way he’s chucking that might not come until 2018. Use him here in cash games against a strikeout-prone lineup even in a hitter’s park. He’s that good.
Henry Owens (SP, BOS) - $5,900
Owens has done nothing but good things in his past three starts, racking up 22.2 IP, 14 Ks, and two wins. He’s not whiffing a ton of bats, but he’s limiting hard contact, and he’s not walking guys. The Indians do tend to hiccup against lefties every now and then, so this is a great chance for Owens to add one more quality start to his 2015 resume.
DFS Infielders to Target for FanDuel
Matt Wieters (C, BAL) - $2,700
This is a great price for a red-hot catcher. Wieters has nine hits in his last six games with two homers in that span.
Darin Ruf (1B, PHI) - $2,500
Here’s another awesome place to save a buck. Ruf has shown impressive power numbers this year in a lineup that really doesn’t scare anyone. He gets a lefty on Friday and has seven RBI and two homers in his past three games
Robinson Cano (2B, SEA) - $3,300
Hot hitter with a good price. It’s good to see Cano turning it around after his very slow start.
Mike Moustakas (3B, KC) - $3,100
Look for every Royal to start heating up this weekend, because the playoffs are coming and that’s their new identity. Moustakas has been heating up the past week or so, and he’s churning out doubles like crazy right now.
Corey Seager (SS, LOS) - $3,300
Love the way this kid plays and the power potential that comes alongside his swing. Count me in at this price.
DFS Outfielders to Target for FanDuel
Jason Heyward (OF, STL) - $3,400
I was watching this stud defender play in Pittsburgh this past week, and he is some kind of locked in right now. Making diving catches and following them up with grand slams is exactly the type of thing you can expect from a red-hot Heyward.
Byron Buxton (OF, MIN) - $2,500
I love the way he’s swinging the bat right now… if he’s in the starting lineup. Good price for his upside.
Chris Young (OF, NYY) - $2,500
Don’t fix what isn’t broken. I’ve been rolling CY out there against lefties all year long.
Good luck with your FanDuel and DFS lineups RotoBallers!
