FanDuel Quarterback - Week 9 DFS Picks
Aaron Rodgers (vs IND, $9,100)
Rodgers got off to a bit of a slow start this season, but he has looked great in each of his last two games. He gets another great matchup this week, as he’ll play against the Indianapolis Colts, who have the second worst defense in the NFL against the pass. Rodgers has been throwing short routes to get the ball in his receivers hands quickly. Rodgers isn’t going to come cheap, but he has been playing well enough for all leagues.
Dak Prescott (at CLE, $7,600)
Prescott has looked outstanding for the Cowboys this season, and it looks like they are ready to give him the job until the end of the season. This week, he gets a great matchup against the Browns, who currently rank dead last in the NFL in defense. Prescott has thrown at least one touchdown in each of his last five games, and he has four rushing touchdowns on the season. He’s a consistent option with a surprisingly low price tag for this matchup. He’s safe enough to be used in all leagues.
FanDuel Running Backs - Week 9 DFS Picks
Devontae Booker (at OAK, $7,000)
Booker’s price tag is finally high enough that people won’t immediately plug him into their lineups. He will likely be highly owned, but not nearly as highly owned as last week. He’s the clear lead back for the Broncos, who are a team that loves running the ball. He didn’t play very well last week, but he still managed 84 totals yards and one touchdown. He gets a great matchup against the Raiders this week, and Oakland has one of the worst rush defenses in the NFL this season. Booker can be used in all leagues.
Darren Sproles (at NYG, $4,800)
Sproles has clearly moved into the lead back role for the Eagles, as he totaled 20 touches last week. He’s always a threat to catch the ball out of the backfield, and his receiving potential gives him great upside. He gets a tough matchup against the Giants, but his low price tag makes him useable. He will likely go a bit under owned this week, but Sproles is a great salary relief option in all leagues.
FanDuel Wide Receivers - Week 9 DFS Picks
Davante Adams (vs IND, $7,100)
If I could only pair Rodgers with one wide receiver this week, it would be Davante Adams. Over his last two games, he has 25 receptions for 206 yards and two touchdowns on 30 targets. He looks like he finally may have taken the jump that Green Bay has been expecting. Rodgers also looks much more confident in Adams recently, which is shown by his uptick in targets. He gets a great matchup against a weak Colts secondary, and he can be used in all leagues.
Donte Moncrief (at GB, $6,100)
Moncrief will likely be a chalk play this week. He returned from injury last week, and played well. There is very little reason to believe that he won’t be able to do the same thing this week against an injured Green Bay defense. Even when Moncrief struggles, he has elite touchdown potential, which tends to save his value. He is a great salary relief option, and it would be wise to use him in not only cash games, but also tournaments this week.
FanDuel Tight End - Week 9 DFS Picks
Kyle Rudolph (vs DET, $5,000)
Rudolph is surprisingly inexpensive for how he has been involved in the offense this season. He has at least five targets in six of his seven games, including four games with five or more receptions. He hasn’t found the end zone in a few weeks, but he has been a red zone targets for Minnesota. He gets a great matchup against the Lions, who tend to struggle against the tight end, and Rudolph is one of their safest weapons. He’s a great option on this slate.
FanDuel Defense - Week 9 DFS Picks
Detroit Lions D/ST (at MIN, $4,200)
I tend to take a flier on a defense each week, and that’s exactly what the Lions are this week. They have been fairly steady, but they haven’t had any great fantasy games. That could change this week, as they get a great matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, who have one of the worst offenses in the NFL this season. The Lions are far from a sure fire lock, but they are extremely cheap and do have some good upside.
