FanDuel DFS Pitchers
Justin Verlander - P, HOU vs NYY (FD - $10,700)
Even though Verlander is facing a tough Yankees lineup, he's still by far the top starting pitching option tonight. His last start was likely an outlier - expect Verlander to rebound and pitch like the guy he was last year, when he had a 34.8% K-rate and a 4.4% walk-rate. Those numbers can be played against any lineup, and he gets to face the Yanks at home, away from their bandbox ballpark.
Vince Velasquez - P, PHI vs WAS (FD - $6,800)
Velasquez was skipped the first time around the Phillies rotation because of some off days, so he will make his first start tonight. VV has a ton of strikeout upside tonight against the Nationals, who have the fifth-highest K-rate this season against right-handed pitching at 28.1%. Velasquez had an inconsistent 2018 campaign but posted a strong 25.6% strikeout-rate, making him a great GPP play that you can get for cheap.
FanDuel DFS Infielders
Kendrys Morales - 1B, OAK at BAL (FD - $2,600)
Morales is facing one of baseball's worst starting pitchers in Andrew Cashner, who has a 5.40 ERA with seven walks to six strikeouts on the year. He should see plenty of RBI opportunities out of Oakland's cleanup spot, and has a good chance of homering in hitter-friendly Camden Yards. Morales is an outstanding value at this price.
Jose Altuve - 2B, HOU vs NYY (FD - $3,800)
DFS shouldn't be treated like season-long fantasy leagues, but it's still insane to see a guy who was going top 20 overall at just $3,800 on FanDuel. He's coming off a season with a 135 wRC+ and bats second for the Astros, and should be an obvious pick.
Adalberto Mondesi - SS, KC vs SEA (FD - $3,800)
Mondesi's explosive power/speed combo is one to chase in tournaments, as he's capable of a huge game on any given night. He'll be batting second against Felix Hernandez, who limped to a 5.55 ERA in 2018.
Josh Donaldson - 3B, ATL at COL (FD - $3,900)
There is a surprising number of affordable Coors Field bats tonight for both the Braves and Rockies. Donaldson is my favorite of the group, as he gets to face a lefty in Kyle Freeland. Even in a down year, Donaldson had a 146 wRC+ in 2018 against lefties. He should mash in Coors.
FanDuel DFS Outfielders
Andrew McCutchen - OF, PHI vs WAS (FD - $3,900)
McCutchen is in a valuable position batting leadoff for the Phillies, where he will see lots of chances to get on base and score runs. He's got a .923 OPS this year and faces Anibal Sanchez, who Philadelphia roughed up for four earned runs in four innings last time around.
Cedric Mullins - OF, BAL vs OAK (FD - $2,200)
Mullins is off to an ice cold start but can still produce as the Orioles leadoff hitter. He's in an extreme hitter's park against A's starter Marco Estrada, who's coming off a 5.64 ERA. Mullins is basically at a punt price but has much more potential than just saving payroll.
