FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (9/16/16): MLB DFS Advice

Thursday Night Football is over, and what should have been a defensive battle turned into quite the shootout. Shake off the tiredness, and get ready for an exciting MLB slate tonight. The San Diego Padres are headed into Coors Field to take on the Colorado Rockies, so keep that in mind when drafting the perfect lineup.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 9/16/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.

Editor's Note: Purchase a full season NFL Premium Pass (including DFS Premium), and also get MLB Premium + DFS for free through the playoffs. Premium DFS research, lineup picks, expert lineups, tools and more. You can see screenshots of our NFL Premium and MLB Premium and DFS tools. What are you waiting for?

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel

Colorado Rockies

The Colorado Rockies get a great matchup tonight against the San Diego Padres in Coors Field. This is going to turn into an offensive showdown very quickly, especially with Tyler Chatwood and Christian Friedrich on the mound.

Miami Marlins

The Miami Marlins are headed into Philadelphia, which happens to be a hitter-friendly area, to take on the Phillies in what should be a great matchup. Adam Morgan is on the mound, and the Marlins should be able to take advantage of that. They have a high-upside offense that is worth consideration in tournaments.

Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pittsburgh Pirates have a ton of upside tonight against the Cincinnati Reds in a very hitter-friendly, power-friendly stadium. Robert Stephenson is on the mound. Andrew McCutchen hit two home runs in his last game, and there will be more to come tonight.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

Max Scherzer ($11,000)

Max Scherzer should be able to keep the Atlanta Braves off the scoreboard for the most part tonight. His price tag is not that much higher than other pitching options, like Corey Kluber and Chris Sale. His consistency and upside are greater. Use him in all formats.

Matt Moore ($8,000)

Matt Moore has been pitching well for the San Francisco Giants of recent, aside from one terrible outing against the Colorado Rockies in Coors Field. Coors Field is a difficult beast to tame, so Moore gets a pass on that one. He should be able to take care of business against the St. Louis Cardinals tonight, who are only mediocre at the plate.

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Catcher (C) - Yasmani Grandal ($2,800)

Yasmani Grandal is hitting in Arizona tonight, and despite a lack of production last night, the Dodgers should be able to score quite a few runs against Zack Greinke. Greinke has looked better of recent, but he has not been fantastic on the season, and Grandal has 25 home runs, which showcases his upside.

First Base (1B) - Albert Pujols ($3,000)

Albert Pujols is another high-upside option tonight, as he gets a good matchup against the  Toronto Blue Jays. Power is something that Pujols definitely possesses. Do not use him in 50/50 contests, but feel free to fire him up in tournaments.

Second Base (2B) - Brian Dozier ($4,300)

Brian Dozier is entirely too hot to pass on him right now. He has seven home runs in his last 10 games, and he should continue to excel tonight against the New York Mets and Bartolo Colon. Roster him; it is that simple.

Shortstop (SS) - Troy Tulowitzki ($3,000)

Troy Tulowitzki has been hitting the ball well of recent, and his price tag is low. He gets a good matchup against the Los Angeles Angels in what should be a high-scoring game. Use Tulo in all formats.

Third Base (3B) - Jung Ho Kang ($3,500)

Jung Ho Kang recently won player of the week, and he is headed into Cincinnati to take on the Reds. Cincinnati is a very hitter-friendly ballpark, so Kang has huge upside. He has also been consistent. Use him in all formats.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Andrew McCutchen ($3,600)

Andrew McCutchen, much like Jung Ho Kang, has huge upside tonight in Cincinnati. He hit two home runs in his last game, and for his price tag, he can be used in tournaments without hesitation.

Hunter Pence ($3,300)

Hunter Pence's price tag is too low. It is really that simple. He is hitting over .400 in his last 10 games, and yesterday, he hit a two-run home run in his first at-bat. Use him in all formats and in every league.
