Just eight games on the slate today, but we aren't devoid of attractive hitter-pitcher matchups. FanDuel has broken today's contests into three groups - All Day (8), Early Only (3), and Main (5).
For a day with just eight games, there are quite a few games with over/unders in the "attractive" range. The game with the highest over is the Rockies at Red Sox (9.5), followed by Blue Jays at Yankees (9), Orioles at Astros (8.5) and White Sox at Royals (8.5). As for the teams and hand-side that have the greatest positive park factors today, those squads are the Yankees and Blue Jays left-handed batters, the Rockies and Red Sox right-handed batters, and the Houston and Baltimore left-handed hitters.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/26/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.
DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel
Blue Jays versus CC Sabathia
Rather than a hand-side, I think the way to attack Sabathia is with the middle of the order guys and any Blue Jay with good lefty-lefty splits. Sabathia hasn't been atrocious this year, but he's had his troubles - especially with left-handed batters - who have excellent park factors today. On the season, Sabathia has allowed a .354 wOBA to left-handed batters with a 1.69 HR/9 and a 7.21 FIP. This plays well for guys like Michael Saunders and Ezequiel Carrera, but I'm going to pad the stack with right-handed batters that attack southpaws real well, like Josh Donaldson, too.
Also Consider: Royals versus Miguel Gonzalez
DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel
Jose Fernandez (SP, MIA) - $11,000
Dollar for dollar, there isn't a better option on the board tonight. Fernandez has pitched brilliantly in his last three outings and he reached seven complete innings in two of those starts - which is a big positive for a guy that was hovering around 5-6 innings pitched in his last few starts prior to that. He has done an excellent job keeping the ball in the park this season (0.537 HR/9), striking out batters (12.03 K/9) and he's in a great park for pitchers tonight - despite not being in Miami. Adding to the opportunity, the Rays have struck out in nearly 27% of their at-bats versus right-handed pitching this season.
Also Consider: Drew Smyly (SP, TAM) - $9,100 and Jon Gray (SP, COL) - $6,500 (GPP Only)
DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel
Catcher (C)
Salvador Perez (C, KCR) - $3,200
Sal is heating up over the past week, but his price still hasn't caught up to his performance and he's a relative bargain tonight. On the season, Perez owns a .343 wOBA and .220 ISO against right-handed pitching and he's facing a subpar pitcher in Miguel Gonzalez.
First Base (1B)
Freddie Freeman (1B, ATL) - $3,100
Freeman hasn't been his normal self this year, but he has a pretty opportune evening ahead of him. His numbers against right-handed pitching are still solid-to-strong - .377 wOBA and .241 ISO - and he faces off against a pitcher in Wily Peralta that has allowed a .524 slugging percentage to left-handed batters in 2016.
Second Base (2B)
Devon Travis (2B, TOR) - $2,200
Not really sure where he may fall in the order tonight as he was very recently activated from the disabled list, but Travis is an absolute steal at this price. He faces the struggling CC Sabathia and perhaps most importantly, Travis hit southpaws last season to the tune of a .415 wOBA.
Shortstop (SS)
Trevor Story (SS, COL) - $3,800
Story's splits favor left-handed pitching, but that shouldn't prevent you from rostering him at a great price against a struggling pitcher in a great park for right-handed batters. Story's right-righty splits are still pretty strong regardless, as he owns a .361 wOBA and .295 ISO.
Third Base (3B)
Josh Donaldson (3B, TOR) - $3,600
This is an absolute steal of a price for a player of Donaldso's caliber - before even considering what a strong matchup he has today against Sabathia. Donaldson this season owns a .423 wOBA and super impressive .333 ISO against left-handed pitching.
DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel
Michael Saunders (OF, TOR) - $3,700
Saunders, who I mentioned up top on my Blue Jays stack, has excellent lefty-lefty splits and faces a pitcher in Sabathia that really struggles to keep the ball in the yard against guys hitting on that side of the plate. He also has the best park factors of the day for a hitter, and should be slotted right in the middle of the Toronto lineup.
Paulo Orlando (OF, KCR) - $3,000
For this struggling Kansas City team, the emergence of Orlando has been a bright spot. Tonight he's listed at a great price and gets to face subpar Miguel Gonzalez. Orlando has strong power numbers against right-handed pitchers this season, as marked by his .252 ISO and .535 slugging percentage.
Carlos Gonzalez (OF, COL) - $3,000
Anytime you can get a player with CarGo's tool set at this price, you have to consider him. Consider the fact he faces a struggling pitcher in a strong hitter's park and owns excellent splits - .421 wOBA and .322 ISO - and he's a must play tonight in Boston.
Also Consider: Ezequiel Carrera (OF, TOR) - $2,700
