Daily Fantasy College Football: FanDuel Picks for 10/31
The games scheduled for Saturday are pretty meh at best in terms of appeal for the casual fan. Luckily, we don't have to worry about that with daily college fantasy football rooting interests to get the adrenaline flowing. In week 9 we have a few new teams, and therefore new faces to choose from, in this 16 game slate for October 31st, 2015..
All eyes on the West coast.
FanDuel CFB DFS Quarterback Picks
Cody Kessler (QB, USC) - $8,000
After an up and down start to the season, Kessler's performance has steadied and been impressive the last few weeks. He's got a much higher floor now than he did earlier this year and he makes for a solid cash game play this week, especially as he runs an offense that leans pass and has elite weapons at wide receiver. This Saturday, in a game with a real high over/under (69.5) against a below-average Cal secondary (ranked 92nd in pass defense), I like him as a tournament play as well. He makes for an intriguing stack with JuJu Smith and Adoree' Jackson.
Josh Rosen (QB, UCLA) - $8,700
Rosen is another guy I believe has a high floor this weekend but makes for a solid GPP option, too. UCLA's running backs are a little banged up, Rosen has had 40+ pass attempts in each of the past three weeks and Vegas expects this to be somewhat of a shootout, setting the over/under at 63. Colorado has a weak defense overall and their pass defense is particularly bad, ranking 95th in the country.
FanDuel CFB DFS Running Back Picks
There are a lot of top ranked running backs in this session facing stud defenses, particularly ones with big front sevens adept at stopping the run. Due to that and price, I'm going to fade Peyton Barber , Sony Michel, and Matt Dayes. Below are a few guys that I think are worth rostering on Saturday.
DeAndre Washington (RB, Texas Tech) - $7,400
Washington and his Tech teammates are facing a Cowboys defense that is pretty strong, but much more dominant at stopping the pass. I think they'll end up leaning on Washington who is more than capable of carrying the load in this game that has the highest over/under of the day. He's averaged 18 carries a game over his last three.
Anthony Wales (RB, WKU) - $7,500
This game may lean pass heavy but there should be a ton of points and Wales has averaged 20 carries a game over the last two weekends. He held his own against a stout LSU defense last week but really showed what he's capable of the weekend before with monster numbers. Wales is facing a much, much weaker defense this weekend in Old Dominion.
Samaje Perine (RB, Oklahoma) - $7,200
Perine finally blew up last week and come Saturday he'll be facing an abysmal Kansas run defense. For as terrible as Kansas is overall, their pass defense is respectable, so I'm suspecting the Sooner play calling to lean run heavy and exploit the Jayhawk's biggest weakness.
Akrum Wadley (RB, Iowa) - $6,800
With Canzieri being ruled out Saturday, there probably isn't a more "must play" running back than Wadley. He should get a ton of carries against a very suspect Maryland defense. Last week he went for over 200 yards and 44 points on FanDuel. While that total may be tough to match this week, it certainly isn't out of the realm of possibility.
Markell Jones (RB, Purdue) - $5,100
Jones is my viable punt of the week. Jones has been named the starter and the Nebraska defense isn't anything to write home about in terms of stopping the run. Jones is a home run threat, and he's capable of big numbers, plus there's a lot to love about his price.
FanDuel CFB DFS Wide Receiver Picks
Laquon Treadwell (WR, Ole Miss) - $8,500
Not only is he a freak athlete with after the catch skills, he's a target hog in Ole Miss' pass heavy offense. He's a bit pricey, but he's worth paying up for against an exposed Auburn defense.
Jared Dangerfield (WR, WKU) - $6,800
If you aren't interested in paying up for Taywan Taylor but still want a piece of the WKU aerial attack, Dangerfield is your man. He's averaged eight catches a game over the last five games.
Adoree Jackson (WR, USC) - $5,600
Adoree' Jackson is not only a home run threat but the legit number two receiver for the Trojans now thanks to a few injuries. At this price, he might be my favorite GPP receiver of the day.
James Washington (WR, Oklahoma State) - $5,400
Washington is slowly becoming a bigger part of the offensive game plan for the Cowboys. He doesn't have a high enough floor for cash games but I do like the cost savings and upside enough to roster him in GPP's.
Kenny Lawler (WR, Cal) - $6,100
Lawler is the clear favorite target of Goff and the two should hook up early and often in what is expected to be a high scoring, pass heavy Pac 12 battle.
FanDuel CFB DFS Tight End Picks
Stephen Anderson (TE, Cal) - $3,900
Jaylen Samuels is likely to be the highest owned tight end this season and that's for good reason. Western Kentucky's Tyler Higbee is out injured and Samuels will account for a decent chunk of the passing game. He also takes a few handoff out of the backfield. If you can fit the expensive big man in your lineup, I'd go ahead and do it. If you'd like to save a few bucks and go with a guy that should be less owned but also sees a handful of targets in a pass offense, go with Anderson.
